New professions

Now that we finally had a profession overhaul this expansion I think its finally time for a new one. We have only had two new professions (archaeology not included) since the game began and the most recent one being from Wrath. So my question to all of you is what would you want for a new profession or what do you think we may get in the future.

Professions are in an odd spot where I can’t think of one additional fit.

Ideally it’d be something that can be also paired with skinning but I can’t think of a useful one. Carpentry maybe?

I posted alot on reddit. Just taking my posts from there and posting it here now. Been meaning to do it for a while just got around to it waiting for Pandaria Remix lol. Theres not any rules against that is there?

Add player housing to the game
add carpentry to the game
add forestry to the game

Player housing would be really nice and just make an instanced zone and give a hearthstone and I think we are all good. Carpentry and Masonry could make a big part in making furniture and decorations for player housing. Pre-existing professions could make stuff too like blacksmithing could make a coat of arms for your home.

I think they should add something but it’s been over 10 years since we got any new professions. Now they’re effectively removing them from the game (first aid, archaeology). So I don’t think it’s going to happen, at least not in TWW.

Would be cool to have first aid back. :mask:

This wouldn’t really be a full a crafting profession but more of a secondary skill like archy was; I think they should add some sort of musician skill like New World has or older MMOs like SWG had.

Musicians would be able to provide buffs to those who listen to a played song, raise their skill to learn additional buffs to give out and how well they played would determine the strength or duration of the buff.

Of course the purely e-sport crowd would hate this because it would add another step to being fully optimized for raid night, but even if the buffs available only worked in outdoor zones like the community feast or something, I think it would be a cool social feature and little extra something casual to do in game.

What advantage would having first aid back give since you can still get bandages?

I guess if they could expand on it and make it do other things as well, perhaps, but I think there was just too much grinding specifically just to get better bandages.

No more new professions because all a new profession creates is more baggage one has to deal with to min-max.
If they wanted to add something low impact like archeology or fishing that’d be cool. Maybe basket weaving for all the sensitives that plague WoW now.

I liked filling up all of my bars. Fishing, Cooking, and First Aid were my jam. The only one I didn’t do was archaeology since it was downright annoying to do, but I definitely didn’t want it discontinued.

They need to fix current professions.

Thing is, there isn’t really a Profession to add that either requires a new in-game mechanic (like Carpentry for player housing) or are just too niche (like Fletching).

New professions

Second life has the oldest profession. They could always add that.

These are called bards, and they should be a full class rather than just a profession.

And before anyone says anything about “support classes”, I’d like to direct your attention to Augmentation Evokers…
