New Professions 11.0 still have issues but let me explain

I like the ‘changes’.

Things are better to max.

Ranks feels better and nodes feel better explained and spaced out.

I hate that it still takes so long to get anywhere meaningful.

I hate that there is so many weapons, armor, etc that you can craft but CAN’T post on AH.

It just doesn’t feel good IMO.

I wish this system would feel better but it just doesn’t feel good when spending all that time and picking a route and most crafts not being able to post on the AH (makes no sense to not to).

DF was a step in the right directions with prof. But like everything blizzard does, they end up taking 1 step forward, then 2 steps backwards.

Prof in TWW are so much worse then they were in DF. They fixed the issue with not soft locking yourself by not picking the right specialization (One step forward) but then they screwed everything else by leaning into the order system, nerfing crafted items, and seemingly forgetting to make some prof even matter again (2 steps backwards.)

Those are grand statements without any explanation. Cannot have a debate without explaining your reasoning. Which prof does not matter? What does the order system prevents you to do? It feels quite good to me, a lot better than the skill up in 1 week that it was before. Takes long? Its a subscription game what do you expect?

The crafting order system has finally allowed us to sell soul bound items via commissions. Even being able to trade high-end recipes to our own alts, a thing that was not possible before dragon flight with BOP items.

I’m not sure what their reasoning is, but I know blacksmithing can leave you pretty well stranded by 60 if you didn’t take the Everburning Ignition path. Otherwise you have to try and harvest the tinder boxes and Null stones needed for the highest end crafts for skill ups

I’ve liked how professions have gone overall. Way better than SL or before. I get that not every likes it and people want easy gold, but the old systems were boring and they could be really grindy if you didn’t have the money to just buy all your mats and go. I like the depth of the trees and how it makes specialists early in the expac. It’s a little bit more watered down with concentration, but I think its a decent compromise. You don’t have to fully spec into something to play now, which I think is good. There’s more KP each week now (25-30ish vs 15ish), so getting through the trees can be much faster, and there’s catchup that isn’t just easy peasy and takes some effort or tradeoff.

I do think the Patron order system can be a bit wonky and uneven, so that probably needs some tuning. And there are a few spec trees that need attention (alchemy potions feels empty, and the previously mentioned lockout of everburning ignition in BS). Overall, I hope there is more iteration on the system, but i generally like it better than pre DF.

I actually didn’t get it until 75 (last tab), so I got stuck at like 70ish for a hair bit. I had the tinderboxes needed, but I wasn’t keen on crafting an epic for myself yet (I wanted to see what slot I was gonna have trouble with). I eventually got a public order for someone and then did DMF to finally get to 75, but it took a bit. So I feel that pain.

It is better now that you can buy tinderboxes and null stones are much easier to get now that folks have spec’ed into it in mining. Early on I had to be creative though.

For blacksmith, yeah you have my sympathies the alloys are still somewhat of a pain. Thinderboxes are no longer a problem. Let me steer your eyes to my good pal Borgos! Hes the stone dorf riiiiight next to the bg table doing things with his hands at the forge. He sells thinderboxes for kaheti oils, mushrooms, deep ingot and gloomfathom hides. 3 for 1 thinderbox. The prices of those mats have gone up form dirt sure, but if you are like me, you had stacks of them anyway and can get the thinder quite cheap now.

Yes, now Tinderboxes and Nulls aren’t as bad, but they weren’t for a while, and it’s still sucky to get stalled out because you spent your KP ‘wrong’
