Reuse scenarios to recap the story milestones of the current expac.
It’s much more convenient to tell a “what happened” story, instead of getting thrown into the expac and see a cluster of quests popping up.
That’s a lot of worktime. They should start with a giant flowchart that would show every breadcrumb and every questline and what it leads to.
That’s why I wrote summary. But scenarios were always nice for that. And the flow chart of the story should already be present somewhere.
But is it? When I got to Dragonflight after buying the game in the Black Friday sale, I saw no information on what to do aside from one NPC telling me to talk to her. And what looked like millions of quest markers on the map.
Honestly what I think would help new players (maybe even returning players) is a full blown 20 level introduction to the game that you can opt in and out of. Much like the world quest it should have chapters that you can essentially cherry pick informative “how to” quests.
They can cover combat basics, rotation concept, crafting, rep, rewards.
The game does need to be a bit more accessible to new players.
make the leveling experience a best hits of all previous expansions and simplify the quest chains to give a very broad overview with the shield icons to go from point a to b through all the zones
Usually all I do is the campaign quests and leave most all the random question marks alone. I’ll then do standard quests if I link up with a friend so we can still do the same content.
Yeah, Exile’s Reach was a good start, but could have been a little longer.
They need someting to help people follow all the quest lines. The 3rd party web sites just aren’t keeping up anymore. I sometimes have to go to these websites and start copying the completion macro for one quest after another and paste it into my chat to figure out where I am. Takes a lot of time.
Why should the season end with AI doing the work for players?
