Hi there,
I’m a very new player to WoW. I just started playing since last Friday, 12-20-2019. I can definitely say that I am completely enjoying the experience so far, although it took me 6 hours to get to level 10 (I’ve seen videos on YT that they can get to 10 in like 2 hours… CRAZY!). I chose my first character to be a hunter because I hear it is one of the more in-depth classes for “solo leveling”, which I’ll be doing mainly. I like the roleplaying aspect of games where I can explore the world and learn the game as I go.
Reason for placing this on the forums is this…
-Are there any good tips/tricks for me?
-What are addons and how do I use them? I press “Escape” and I don’t see the “Addons” button like I see from other videos?
-I chose a PvE server already, since I don’t think I’d like to be killed by other players all day long… I only have 1-3 hours a day to play
-Any other useful tips as I experience my stay in Azeroth?
Thanks!

Kind of jealous of your situation. My recommendation would be to find helpful players in game, add them to your friends list and utilize them for answers or group quest that you both can benefit from.
Addons change the game, and for the better imo. I love Questie because it allows me to quest without having another window up with the how to. Classic wasn’t the most properly designed game due to its newness on release, so there’s a fair amount of quest that are poorly written or just not designed very well. Just download the Twitch app/program and go to the Mods tab. You should find World of Warcraft then just select the classic folder from its drop down.
Lastly, enjoy it! Take Screen shots of cool interactions to remember and again, those friends will be the most memorable part once you’re done playing the game too. Don’t feel the need to rush either, most of the complaints on the forums are from max level players.

I appreciate the feedback!
So, with this Twitch app/program… Is it free? Also, is this where all of the addons are? How will I know the ones that are right for me? Like, do I need to pay anything/get refunded if I don’t like the ones I purchased?
I never thought about taking screenshots, to be honest. I should definitely start doing that
It is free.
A good majority of them anyways, they’re also typically updated and it’ll have all the main ones I believe.
Less is better!! The game can feel overwhelming if you have too many addons that you don’t utilize. Walk into them.
If I could only have a select amount of addons, it would be Questie, Dominos, Extended Character Stats, and Details!.
Save all the crap thats dropped from mobs and vendor them! Try to get bigger slot bags as quickly as you can so you can sell sell sell, to get that 100g mount at level 40. Any gray items or trash items that drops, pick it up and vendor it!
Pick up a profession as well so you can sell what you make

Thanks!
I am glad it is free… That would be a pain if it costed $$$… I’d hate to get something and find out it wasn’t for me… Lol.
I’ll definitely check out these addons for sure!
Welcome!
I would suggest that when you are in groups, if you aren’t comfortable with something, explain to the group that you’ve only been playing for a couple days. I think this will make them more inclined to be helpful toward you. If they just see a struggling underperforming hunter some people may be rude if they don’t know.
Also- use Wowhead- it’s a website with tons of resources to help you with quests, items, npc’s, etc. I’ve been playing since 2008 and still use wowhead daily.

I got my two first bags dropped from these bear guys lol. I think both of them are blue colored… I don’t remember… I’m at work
I can definitely say that it seems like bag space is very valuable… It seems like it fills up quick!
get ready for the big grind get lots of caffeine and snacks leveling in classic is indeed a huge grind.
Actually I had to use this site last night! Lol. I was doing some quest that required me to tame some pets… I could not, for the life of me, find some owl pet. I was walking around for hours until I gave up and looked online and found where they are at!
But an enjoyable grind, in my opinion

I can definitely see where people get excited to come online to play:)
indeed it is
im just saying now you will get addicted and not even want to leave so have some food and soda or something close by to help with the grind.
and a good music playlist.
Yup! Maybe you can befriend a tailor who can make bigger slot bags for you but it is worth your while to hold as much stuff as you can so you can sell. Bags also drop in dungeon runs but doesn’t happen that often
Gold is a big priority tho so sell and pick up two professions that compliment each other, maybe alchemy and herb for you but it’s your choice at the end. Whatever benefits you
Darn… I chose Fishing and First Aid… Those were the first two profession givers that I seen… Are these good? Will they make me money? I’m assuming fishing will, no?
Those are “secondary profs” so you haven’t chosen your main two yet, you can do any two of the main ones, and all of the secondary ones (cooking, fishing, first aid)
If you’re looking to make money, you can choose two gathering professions, but if you want to make yourself gear as a hunter, you can go skinning/leatherworking. If you farm enough, you don’t need to spend much making decent gear
Well those are secondary proffs (fishing, first aid, cooking), you can get those in addition to primary professions like alchemy.
Fishing is very handy to have, you can sell the fish on the auction house
Oooooohhh… Didn’t know that! I have to search for the cooking guy now lol.
I’d like to be efficient as possible so the skinning/leatherworking sounds pretty cool.
