Hi. I played very briefly during BFA on another account. Decided to buy a new account with the sale as I couldnt find my old info.
I have a 70 boost that I am going to use today. I don’t want to play Hunter primarily because the transmogs are so dang ugly. I am deciding between Ele Shaman and Any Warlock. Since I solo 99% of the time I know both of those have pets (though Shaman is limited) - I suspect i will be doing a lot of Delves and solo questing. What would be the best spec for me to do the most in game (wont ever raid or M+)
Thx in advance.
Well… do you like Thrall or Gul’dan more?
With that said lock has a tank pet that sticks around more than my dad did. Anything that delays you getting your face caved in is better for solo content.
With that said… shaman is fun to watch.
I second Warlock, especially with Demonology your Felboi can do so much.
This may sound like a copout, but honestly any of them are fine for the content you are interested in doing and even in content you aren’t interested in doing outside of maybe M+ titles.
Currently, shamans are the stronger when it comes to class/spec balance, but warlocks have a lot of utility and pet tools. I obviously play a warlock, but I have since launch, so I may be biased.
Have you tried the max level class trials yet to see if one fits your style more than the other?
many of us hunter players agree. lol.
Yeah, mail is probably the hardest to transmog out of the different armor types.

Demonology warlock is fun for a caster…
Soloing, Im sorry but I wont touch shaman now after they did something to it a long while back.
Windwalker monk is a blast too, make sure to take Strike of the windlord with the extra talents for it though.
There are a few that work for us. If you click my name, press View Activity, and then view Profile, you can see my fit. And then if you look at my pet, you can see my Slyvern matches. To complete the look, I have Temperamental Skyclaw mount, which is a 99% match the model of my slyvern pet. I also have a battle pet of a slyvern that I use an addon to auto summon when I mount up.
Although, I will admit this fit is only because of the Trading Post. I am also partial to using the green Eagletalon set from Legion, alongside Thas’dora and two green foxes from Ardenweld, or the Trailseeker set from WoD garrison and same pets, or even a nice brown vest/pants/hat/backpack combo and Bakaars from DF.
I wont argue that Hunters have bad looks, and for sure mogging is in the eye of the fitter, but I think I look cute in a number of fits.
To answer your question, the second best solo class is Warlock because of the void guy.
I mean, if I had to pick one of those two only I would probably choose warlock simply because it’s the most self-sufficient. But if it was a brand new account and I had a boost to go with it, I would probably be going with Paladin. I could tank and DPS, the gear always looks amazing, and he’s part of a Meta, which means always welcome at game content and is not likely to get nerfed anytime in the near future.

I like both. My OG main is a Belf Lock. I just made a Tauren Shaman.
I like Mages.
But, I also like turtles. So, I’m anxiously awaiting a turtle race. Just saying.
