Hi, I’m a new World of Warcraft player. I’ve been trying for three days to find group for any dungeons, because I want to experiences them. I’ve waited between 1 to 2 hours morning and night after work. I was not able to form group of any sort.
What can I do because right now I fear I’m missing out on the experiences, so I decided to buy a boost because I though that maybe the player base was at higher level, again even with the level 70 character I’ve tried to made group for any level, any dungeon what so ever and I am not capable of doing even one.
I though that again it was probably me so I look up the most needed class created another account boosted it and still nothing.
What should I do? I’m utterly confused.

What you should do is post bait on the forums so people will post about RDF, which is why you posted this thread.

RDF? I’m not sure I’m following you.
How did you come to discover WoW Classic just now? Obvious RDF troll is Obvious.

I played Retail quite recently and just finished leveling to 70. So I decided to to try classic because I’ve never experiences Wrath of the Lich king so I though It would be fun. and this is on the same subscription I though it was a win win

The solo RPG style of retail is not in classic wrath (although many casual retail features began in Wrath kek). Unfortunately just starting months into the sweat fest of Classic, you will not find an abundance of people leveling - even if cross server was available.
You have to venture your journey to 80 solo. Quest while in queue.
That is unfortunate… Well thanks.
If you have a tank spec, its a lot faster to find group. You can also form a group yourself and invite folks.
Fastest way to form groups the (ancient vanilla way) is to [/who 70-72 priest/paladin/druid] for example and ask them if they want to run a dungeon.
Also posting in /world should work too. BUT outside of doing the associated dungeon related quests - straight up questing is significantly faster to reach 80.
If im not mistaken - AV weekend is coming up and you can level comically fast in there.

I am not interested in leveling, but more in experiencing every dungeon and raid at the intended difficulty.
That’s unfortunately not what classic is about. Everyone is here for Max level raids/old mechanic arenas.
Oh… well is there so way to experiences every dungeons and raid at the difficulty intended any where?
You would have to form the group yourself, or wait for one to form in the group finder.
Dungeons are really hard to find right now. Right now majority of people want to add RDF like what you’re used to in retail because it opens more accessibility to dungeon content, but there is a very loud vocal minority that cling to forming groups as a social interaction that they feel is needed to fill the void in their life.
As a result, not many dungeons are being run unless you’re a social extrovert who enjoys deciding who can and can’t join your group while swinging a pendulum.

the bonehead dwarf and night elf above dont want to admit to people that theres a major issue with gatekeeping. It’s either GDKP, be geared or be best friends with the guild leader. The big brains at Blizzard didn’t think this through when they removed RDF, even tho it was happening in BC and at the end of Classic during AQ and Naxx. Its extremely hard for fresh 80s to gear. Create your own groups
You’re the one that brought up RDF, genius.
you almost had me. up to this part you had me lol. Im all for rdf but this is just forced at this point.
ngl, really hope to see a pole on rdf sometime soon just to see the communities actual reaction to whether we want it or not
Here are a few things you could try:
- Start in a healthy server. Low populated servers have a harder time.
- Keep an eye open to see if there are any casual guilds that are recruiting people on the LFG chat channel. There are some that are alt-friendly.
- Use /who on a level range appropiate for yours; if you are level 42, try /who 40-46. Whisper nicely and politely to see who would like to join you.
- Advertise on the LFG chat channel, try to fill tank and healer first, finding dps is easier.
- Roll either, a tank or a healer; I’d suggest rolling a tank because they have an easier time leveling up than healers.
- Be social, if you are nice to others and they have a nice experience, it’ll be more likely that they’ll want to group with you again.
- Add people to your friend list and set a note that helps you remember who they are and where you met them.
- Help others if possible. Sometimes, I’ve received more than what I’d given.
- This will sound strange, but keep a positive attitude towards it, and generate an equally positive expectation. It is easy to get frustrated when you can’t get things done.
Give those tips a try, remember that it may take some time. I could give you a few examples, but I’d rather mention the time in which I was doing dungeons with this warrior (they were a tank, I was healing); we did like 6 or 7 dungeons in a row, and they were replacing dps after each in less than 10 minutes each. It is feasible, but you gotta know how to do it.

Right now people are focusing on Ulduar progression. Once the raid is on farm they will go back to leveling alts. Best advice I can give you is to spec prot and form your own groups. Good luck!
Thanks you for the suggestion.
