Just keep playing; you’ll figure it out. Usually though, the bigger stat on a gear the better it is. The higher level a quest, mob, or dungeon is, the better the gear it will drop.
Can you run the story on your 10:00pm broadcast? 11 is my bed time.

Are you level 60? If not, your dmg in leveling dungeons shouldn’t really matter because regardless of dmg the dungeons should only take 10 or 15 minutes to complete. Sounds like the players you were grouped with were being jerks.

Heh I am far from that good but I used to be in top US 250 guilds for raiding from Vanilla to the start of WoD. Since then, I have just been playing in Heroic raiding guilds because I really don’t want to put in that much to min/max etc. for Mythic raiding. I love my guild and doing heroic raiding as it is the right amount of challenge I like now and only have to raid 2 nights a week at 2 1/2 hrs a raid night which is perfect.
But, if you ever need help, tips, help in general not mage specific I will always be glad to help out. If so let me know your btag and I will add you. Otherwise, ask in the forums and many of us will be glad to help you out and make your WoW experience a good one.
Hello, I see you posted a thread about being new while on an alt of an account with a ton of achievements. You aren’t doing it correctly, you are supposed to roll an entirely new account to pretend to be new! Take me for example, I’m so new that I haven’t even gotten past level 10 yet!

Ahhh. So the OP is full of it? After reading some of the replies sounds like it. If so, oh well. I love helping new people and if they were bored and making new forums account so be it. I am fine giving my advice still.

Game cards now I believe. With a game code on it. Same as game timecards. Haven’t seen a boxed version of wow in a long time at stores that sell games. Last one I bought was the Mists collector’s edition. Been buying directly from the Blizzard shop ever since. I do kind of miss those midnight release sales they used to have at places like Gamestop. Was fun standing in line talking to other gamers waiting for them to start selling the new expansion at midnight. Doubt this game will ever be that popular again for them to have midnight sales events for wow.
If you didn’t buy the 30 day Xbox live gold card + mic combo from Walmart in the early 2000s, take the card and use the code. Exchange it at different hours and locations every 14 days cause they never check, you haven’t lived. I had free xbox live for 4 years lol.
Another reason to limit the ability to post on the forums. Other Blizzard forums have limiting, we need it here. Just institute bnet posting and most of the problem would go away.

And to add now seeing more replies. It is sad someone needs so much attention that they have to post on a video game forum saying they are new etc. Hate to say it but people like that need actual help.
