New Player confused by retail

Ok so i have been playing classic wow before i ever decided to give the regular warcraft a try. So i talked with alot of people they told me dont go the retail because they destroyed the older content in the game. So not being one to judge things without seeing it for myself i was so lost empty city, zone, noone willing to help me with a quest is this normal??? after hitting 10 i decide to go back to classic i am confused on how the retail wow is suppose to be the better game than classic?

Retail isn’t really meant for group play. You don’t need to talk to people and everything is usually a click away. The boss fights are fun though, but if you’re looking for group play and social interaction you should stick to classic

Yeah… in retail you’re suppose to boost to level 110 after buying BfA. There’s not much to say about the level 1 - 110 experience for new players.

You don’t play retail for the leveling experience, or at least if you do, I feel bad for you.

Retail shines in its endgame, which is where Classic fails. Unless you like spamming 1 button against bosses that don’t do anything.

Keep going or use a boost to get to 110. The charm (and community) of retail kicks in at endgame.

At level 10 you’ve done nothing. Experienced nothing.

I got a chuckle from seeing a confused player named Oblivious. Ho hum.

Given the game is always full when I’m on regardless of area, the skeptic in me says you’re trolling and not speaking the truth about being a new player and its population.

Or join a guild and advance to high mythic keys and heroic/mythic raiding…

The whole “community/group play” argument goes out the window as soon as you start playing at the high end where it is still required.

Yes, it’s normal, because if we had fond memories of leveling, we’d be playing Classic.

Instead of the playerbase being spread out on 2 continents and a handful of zones across 60 levels, people are spread across several contents, across several zones 15 years in the making, across 120 levels.

If you are seriously considering retail, I can help you. I always enjoy taking the time and teach people or support them. If you want Alliance come to Stormrage and if you want Horde come to Area52.

Not sure where you were, if if you picked a dead server. Ive been lurking the starting zones battlepet levelling…tons of people poking around chatting.

Yeah the content is for dummies and you dont need people to help for anything…if its group the quest will have the group button to start a party with others.

Thb, this sounds made up… Just based on what ive seen in the lv1 to 10 zones and 20 zones in retail while i level pets…

You’re coming into retail 15 years after the game launched, so you aren’t going to find as many people at those levels anymore, that’s just the reality of it.
There are a ton of people in game, they just happen to be higher level.
Leveling is relatively faster in retail even without heirlooms and as you level up, you’ll be encountering more people.
Also retail = larger world, so not gonna see a lot of people in basic starter zones or cities when higher level hubs are in newer content.
Retail is better because it includes the entirety of WoW and all of it’s expansions and lore.

If you’re not simply trolling for clickbait, give it another shot and you’ll see how much more immersive retail actually is.

About as solo as Classic lol.
Literally played in Vanilla, only grouped when I needed dungeons or raids, just like retail lol

The questing experience in retail isn’t really group oriented. You don’t really need help from other people until you reach max level.
