New Player confused about expiry date from monthly subscription changing mid-subscription

I subscribed for 1 month, and it said in the email as well that it would be valid until Sept 30, but for some reason, it became “Subscription expires on Sept 29” on the launcher some time ago, and then now it became Sept 28. Is there some sort of mechanic on how this thing works, like the more you are online or afk the more game-time it eats up?

No, there is no such mechanic.

The WoW Token when used for game time should last exactly 30 Calendar days.

Did your email really list Sept 30?

At the top right of this page you should see your BattleTag. Click that and choose “Account” from the dropdown.

In Games & Subscriptions, click on “Manage” just after your WoW account. That should show you the exact date and time your game time ends.

That should be the same time shown in your BattleNet client.

It did, and now from Sept 28, it turned into Sept 27, I’m so confused on what’s happening, since I subscribed monthly and then stopped my subscription, but it said I had til Sept 30.
For some reason though, it kept decreasing, and I’m not sure why.

It seems to be counting down, here’s a screenshot of my client like an hour apart from each other.

The subscription I’m talking about wasn’t from game-time of a WoW token, but my first subscription that I bought from the Bnet shop

Just for anyone else who might be more familiar with this than I, the image shows

  • your BattleNet client saying

“Your subscription expires on September 27, 2024 at 11:53. Click to add more game time.”

  • your Account page on the website showing

“Sep 30, 2024 Expiration Date”

I would have said that was impossible.

But you don’t include the date shown when you click on the word Manage to show the detail. That shows date and time.

This is a subscription … is the expiry on your card Sep '24 by any chance? Is that what it’s showing there? This doesn’t make sense to me, so I’m just casting around wildly for ideas.

Blizzard is VERY good and VERY clear about anything to do with billing and finance.

Check what date/time is shown when you click on “Manage”. That’s the definitive one.

here is what it looks like

No, my card still expires at 2026, so it shouldn’t be that

So should I just assume that the expiry date displayed on my Launcher is wrong? This is quite confusing

It is. It’s confusing me, too.

And, as I said, Blizzard are VERY good about keeping money and time straight. With millions of purchases and renewals a month, they can’t afford errors, or much time straightening things out.

So I have no explanation. Maybe I’m missing something obvious, but I can’t see what.

If you click the Support link under your BattleTag dropdown top right of this page , you can put in a Support Ticket to Billing, and ask them. Do please specify the dates and times in your BattleNet Client that you have the picture for, and the date/time in Account Management.

The launcher is notoriously buggy when it comes to displaying your game time expiration. For an accurate accounting of your remaining game time, always consult your account overview page.

Are you sure it wasnt just the number of days left till it expires.
