I charged it over 2 hours ago and its gone from my bank account… it says “Pending” on account and apparently I cant do anything until it clears like grouping, trading etc? It’s 2024 right? How can this not be instant?
Because those things tend to be work through the system, ensure there isn’t anything shady going on, etc.

It still takes the bank a bit to approve, usually though it’s just a few hours, but can take up to 24 (used to be 72) hours. If the charge is still showing as pending after 24 hours in account management, then I would suspect something else.
Also, if it approves while you are logged in, you might not get it refreshed until you log out and restart the launcher.

You might have starter restrictions, but you should be able to group. Just won’t be able to chat or use ah/mail, but you should be able to chat I think if you are in a group or guild.

Even in 2024, very few things are instant. A lot of systems make it seem like it is, but there are still a lot of checks and delays in processing payment requests that happen.
For us, we have a lot of folks who make illicit accounts and use stolen credit cards to engage in various nefarious activities until they are caught. So, we have some checks in place that help to limit the impact those bad actors may have. I am sorry if it is negatively impacting you at the moment, assuming that is the cause of the delay.
It could be that our systems are waiting for your bank to continue. I couldn’t tell you for certain.
Once it starts processing, some of the restrictions on the account will lift, though there may be social restrictions for up to 24 hours, while the purchase fully processes. Leveling restrictions should lift immediately after the the purchase request moves from Queued.

Banks have implemented new security features and you should have called the bank before you made the purchase just to give them the heads up that this charge will coming their way. In fact if you had done this, They not have held this transaction that long.

Its not my bank… the money is gone from my bank just like every other transaction I have done in the last 20 years lol - I just called them and they said it has been taken.

That pending charge is a good sign that the charge went through at least. It might show as pending and held during this time, but revert if the payment fails. Most likely it won’t fail. My bank can take 1-5 days for pending charges to finalize.

That would be due to the funds being set aside and allocated as “pending” once the two systems finish verifying and approving the transaction. The funds aren’t fully removed from your account that quickly, but they can be put on hold until all the metrics are met and then they will be fully released to Blizzard.

Problem is there are those out there that will use credit card fraud when doing things like this. So blizzard to protect themselvs put a bit of a delay on things.
So because of those using stolen credit cards you have to wait.
