New Plate Class

ok, Tetragrammaton Cleric

Not plate, but, I’d love to see a bard or a shadow hunter. Not sure how they could incorporate a shadow hunter to alliance though.

Could see battlemage. Could have healing through chronomancy, tanking through alteration/illusion. Damage through conjuration/destruction.

The next class will probably be a cloth wearer. And we need another class that uses ranged weapons.

The intersection of that Venn diagram is obviously the Bard!

Warrior, dk, and pally cover all martial, and magic styles pretty much. Maybe a like conquistador class that one hands melee, and uses guns like a survival hunter. Get like a bayonette charge gap closer.

Warlock tank spec with plate armor Voidwalker.

The only issue with making it a Spec in lieu of a class is, Mages only wear cloth. You would have to carry a second set of gear to spec swap. However, you could change the name and make it a class:

Ethereal Knight (BattleMage)
Specs: Grand Master (Tank), Tome Scryer (RDPS), Leyline Evoker (Healer)

Light Guardian (BattlePriest/Cleric**
Specs: Devotee (Tank), Light Hammer (RDPS), Illuminator (Healer)

Dark Diviner (Necromancer)
Specs: Soul General (Tank), Enchanter’s Hand (RDPS), Medium (Healer)

I mean this is just off the top of my head, and the whole “homogenization” phrasing goes out the window when you think of a Forsaken Holy Priest and a Draenei Shadow Priest. At some point, every class has similarities and balance. It is not a huge stretch to find a dozen more that could already fit the narrative. Just my opinion.

Could just make them have a magic armor booster mechanic. Still use cloth, and use intellect as their stat.

We have enough Plate and Leather classes. We haven’t gotten a single new cloth class so that’s what should be next.

But that would remove the option of mogging plate armor, unless they want to allow every class to mog every item, then I could see it. But part of me wants to put a Mage in some paladin gear and make them look more fierce. Maybe they get a magical stat buff AND the mog ability.

WoW could benefit from a Psychic class, telekinesis and the like, in a support role.

Psyonic
Breaker - Tank spec, Bender - DPS spec, Assembler - Heal spec. Plate or cloth really.

only class I can think of would be a “Cavalier” Calvary/knight class though they kinda incorporated those aspects into DK/paladin already.

A cloth melee “dervish” class could be cool.

Everquest had 16 classes a lot of which are in WoW in various flavors.

Tanks - all of which wore plate:

  • Warrior
  • Paladin (Warrior / Cleric Hybrid)
  • Shadow Knight (Warrior / Necromancer Hybrid)

Healers -

  • Cleric (Plate) - Pure Healing
  • Shaman (Mail) - Combo Priest / Support Class
  • Druid (Leather) - Combo Priest / Damage Class

Melee DPS

  • Berserker - Mail
  • Monk - Leather
  • Ranger - Mail, Hybrid Warrior / Druid
  • Rogue - Mail
  • Beastlord - Leather Pet class, Hybrid Warrior / Shaman

Casters - Cloth:

  • Magician - Pet Class, Elemental Magic (4 different kinds of pets with different strengths)
  • Necromancer - Pet Class, Death Magic
  • Wizard - Strong Magic Damage, Pure Caster.

It also had two dedicated Support Classes

  • Enchanter - Cloth, Support Class focused on Buffing Spells/Buffs, Debuffing and CC
  • Bard - Plate - Focus on Buffing and Debuffing Songs and could CC.

Largely, the WoW community appears to hate CC so I am not sure how well either support class could translate to WoW.
