New Phase 4 Rogue Poisons

How long have these been known about?

Each strike has a 30% chance of poisoning the enemy, reducing the enemy’s armor by 1700 for 15 sec. 105 charges.

Each strike has a 30% chance of poisoning the enemy, reducing the enemy’s melee attack power by 205 for 15 sec. 105 charges.

Since before Phase 3.

How many rogues will sacrifice their dps to apply those poisons in a PvE environment though?

None because the poisons are trash.

Rogue Tank can use one of these in their off-hand. Otherwise you will never seen these used as it is a massive dps loss for DPS Rogue to use and Rogue tank wants windfury on their main hand.

it will be insane for solo and pvp. imp expose on the opener for free? crazy.

Oh for sure.

But I was responding to the guy who said pve.

And these won’t be used in pve because they are trash.

They’ll also be used for PvE because you can weapon swap in combat / as the initial pull occurs.

They are meant to be tank poisons, but they will just make PvP more busted and won’t be touched in PvE. The devs are not intelligent people.

Wound and Crippling are mandatory for PVP so these are for tanks.

Here is why rogue poisons are a problem:

Their rune now applies the DOT poison when they apply any other poision. This increases poison application chance by definition, since they can put on a poison with a higher application chance vs the 20% DOT chance. Cleanse and other abilities are no longer worth pressing because they only cleanse 1 at a time. This breaks how the game was intended and makes rogues SUPER POWERFUL. It’s broken. As broken as a shadowpriest having all their abilities, damage healing and CC as instant casts and then hitting disperse while you die with zero counterplay.

Blizzard needs to actually play their own game.

Good PvPers do not use deadly brew. The sky is not falling, stop worrying about something that was never an issue to begin with.

Even then, not having Instant Poison, Deadly Poison, or a Sharpening stone on your offhand is a dps and threat loss.

I don’t even see rogue tanks using either of these.

They need to remove charges from poisons. It was a terrible decision 20ish years ago…where are the Rogue QoL improvements?

Retail definitely did quite a few things right.

Making poisons a buff rather than a consumable was one of them.

Honestly, things like sharpening stone and wizard oils would have been great if they were turned into buffs by their relative proficiency. Skinning proficiency providing critical strike chance, Blacksmithing providing weapon damage buff, Enchanting providing a +hit buff, Alchemy providing a mp5/rage/energy boost. These are the sort of things I expected to see with SoD, not incursions.

I get instantly deleted by Rogues that use Brew. Even if I use trinket. It’s not a skill thing, it’s a whoever opens first wins type of thing.

Yes but against any other class that can survive that first strike deadly brew has no sap, no gouge, no blind without the risk of deadly poison messing it all up. It’s a one trick pony that only works against other noobs.

These are PvP poisons for Backstab, Hemo, and SS builds.

I mean not really, you need to trinket KS and then you have 5 poisons on you, so what’s your play??

You can’t vanish.

You can blind me.

I have trinket up and you don’t now.

So even if I indulge you and sit the blind and wait for you to open I can just immediately trinket your CS after the poisons are all gone and blind instantly.

Either way youre dead if I open.

Yes they do. And yes it is. It’s game breaking because of how the game is coded to handle poison mechanics.

They could fix it if those mechanics simply removed all poisons from a target instead of 1, as it would be if the damn ability was left alone. But right now, there’s no point in even trying to remove them. They also gain dispel resistance if you’re clever, making all of this worse.

But it figures that I’m responding to a grey parsing player rn about how good or bad the game is.

Exactly.

None of this matters because you can delete someone in a cheap shot/Kidney even with the new damage reduction aura. And if they trinket, just vanish and do it again. Your whining scenario only works in situations where the rogue is solo fighting against more than 1 person.

“Yes but against any other class that can survive that first strike”
