Was questing in K’aresh and wanted to change pets, so dismiss my current pet. However, when I went to summon another pet I get the prompt “I need to dismiss my current pet”, so dismissing your pet will lock you out from summoning another. You will have to quite the game to solve the issue.
Something similar happened to me, when i try to change pets it summons the new pet, but the pet action bar does not show and it only attacks when you use an ability that directly orders it to attach like Kill Command or Barbed Shot, otherwise the pet will not attach your target. Also i cannot dismiss it unless i relog or you change locations like porting elsewhere works too.
Every patch is two steps back for Hunters.

Pet specs are also bugged, some pets are now permanently stuck in Tenacity and will change back every time you dismiss then resummon them or change zones.
I had something similar to this, the pet action bar will not show if the summoned pet is one where I changed the pet spec.
I’ll add to this bug as a sv hunter, that my pet will not follow me up to platform that are in the sky when I teleport to them while phased.
I watch him run below the platform where he just disappears.
When I resummon him he drops thru the platform and dies

New bug for me. I tried to do the world boss on Karesh and my pet wouldn’t Bite. It kept acting like the boss was out of range when it obviously wasn’t.
Was it during the phase mode?
Nope. Because that was my first thought. But then I started watching my pet bar. It stayed at 100% focus the whole time, never used Bite. I even did the fight twice because I didn’t get credit for the WQ from the first time.
Edit: I have had so many bugs since 11.2. Like I leveled an alt over the weekend. Hit 80, but my Xp bar stayed at 100%, my lvl stayed 79, and I didn’t get my last hero talent point, but I did get the 80 achievement/quests and everything that happens after you hit 80. Logged out and back in and it was fixed, but I have been dealing with alot of quest progress not counting.
ya this bug in raid is so fun. Half the time using portals gives you this bug or just randomly respawn also bugs your pet

This happens to me doing M/M+ which is NOT a good thing when you’re trying to time a key to have your pet just not appear. When you click summon, it says you have to dismiss your pet first, when you press dismiss it says you don’t have a pet out, when you press revive it says your pet is not dead. You do literally no dmg as BM without your pets and it’ll kill a key if this issue isn’t resolved because logging out and logging in when you’re on a timer isn’t going to cut it. Can we please get a blue post at least acknowledging this is a known issue and try to fix it? Otherwise you’ll have no hunter being picked for keys.

Was in Uldar and my pet was standing by me, but I couldn’t dismiss them, or heal, and it kept saying I had no pet. The pet bar was also missing. They couldn’t code if they were being paid for it.

This is still happening as of last night.
Came here to see if anyone else was having this pet bug. Glad it’s not just me.
Continually have a bug in M+ where pet is out, you can use KC and other pet abilities if they are on your main bars, but pet bars disappear and you cannot dismiss or change pets, if pet dies you cant rez it, can’t swap pets with a Interdimensional companion repository. Only fix is leaving dungeon or getting on a mount or flight point that despawns your pet and resummon on landing or logging out of game and logging back in. Also the pet will swap back to whatever its main ‘spec’ (tenacity, ferocity, or cunning) was before the bug and then stay locked to that spec until you stable the pet and readd it to your pets.

Issue is happening to me as well -glad its not only occuring for me
I put a post on the bug report forum, so far there are more having issues relating to pets.
This bug seems to cause many different variations, just did a Theatre Troupe and there’s no pet but i can’t summon or dismiss, randomly happened after clearing the first stage mission for me, has been happening during M+ and Delves too which is a big issues, hopefully they fix this crap soon otherwise it’ll basically be a bricking bug stopping several classes functioning (Ghouls on DK and Demons on Warlock are also having this same issue).
Relogging can temporarily fix the issue but having to do that during M+ is kinda f’d and not a good time for the whole group involved.
Till they fix it, if you have the pet visibly there but the bug is happening, stand close to your targets and they should auto attack it for you.
I just had this happen (again - it’s done so before) at the worst time: right when I was fighting Dimensius in the raid! Only logging out then back in undid the bug.
Maybe I should consider playing something else that isn’t affected by such nonsense. And yet I’d be giving up the convenience that BM Hunter offers. Decisions, decisions…
Oh good, I mean not good, but is good to know i didn’t do anything to mess stuff out. I noticed it yesterday in a M+, It was lucky we had another person that had lust, but this is really bad. I guess we are all MM now?
