Does anyone run a build with the new i3 10100 and a 1650 super?
I’m about to build a pc with those components for WoW and I was hoping to get an idea of what to expect.

Do you have a budget?
Those parts will work, but your experience won’t be amazing.
If you are playing at 1080p/60hz, it will probably be okay.
I’m trying not to spend over $600. I have a 24 inch 1080p monitor thats @ 75hz.
i think your GPU will be the limiting factor pretty often, but otherwise it’s a decent match up.
If you can stretch your budget a tiny bit, a 1660 Super or an RX 5600XT would make a significant difference
So it’s more my GPU that’s limiting? Yeah I believe I could upgrade that.
I mean, the i3-10100 will do okay in wow. here’s one guy that (may be the only one actually) does WoW benchmarks and his opinion of the i3-10100:
tl;dw: it’s competitive with even higher end CPUs, but needs fast ram (and thus, more expensive motherboard to be really well utilized.
At 1080p/75hz, it’s mostly your GPU that’s the limiter.
Ah, okay. Thank you so much for giving me this information. I really appreciate it.
if all you play is WoW, the 10100 isn’t a bad choice at all, but i would spend a bit more and get a Z490 (cheaper one) and some 3600 CL16 RAM, and a 1660 Super at least.
That said, IF you can afford a little more, the Ryzen 5 3600 is a better buy at only $175, and you can get away with a cheaper motherboard.
It has 50% more resources and is faster in many tasks. It also doesn’t make much sense to spend $120 on a CPU only to spend $200 on fast RAM to make it perform well where you can get by with a cheaper kit on the 3600.
Also, new stuff on the horizon. Maybe wait.
