How well will this run BFA/classic-

Amd Ryzen 3 2300x

Amd Radeon Rx 580 8mb

8GB (8GBx1) DDR4/3000MHz Memory

ASUS TUF X470-Plus Gaming AM4 ATX w/ RGB, USB 3.1, Realtek LAN, 2 PCIe x16, 3 PCIe x1, 6 SATA3, 2 M.2 SATA/PCIe

240GB WD Green SSD + 1TB SATA III Hard Drive Combo (Combo Drive)

Thermaltake SMART series 600Watts 80 Plus Gold high-efficient Power Supply [+1]

It will run wow nicely at setting 7 on retail.

Yes it will run it fine at both 1080 and 1440. You should consider going with two sticks of memory rather than 1 so it will operate in dual channel.

I’d say wait get a Ryzen 3500 instead. Similar price but massively better performance in WoW. If you have to have something today the 3600 will get you near top performance in WoW.

I did upgrade to 16 gb of memory. Thank you for the advice.

One other thing… is this a good fan?

Cooler Master Hyper 212 CPU Cooler w/ PWM fan

I got the same CPU fan, but the trick is applying thermal paste. My fan didn’t come with any so I got the Arctic Silver stuff.

If possible, try and get a 2600/3600 Ryzen.

A 2600x is only $50 more and will give you way more breathing room and longevity of your system.

Its hard for me to recommend a 4 Core only CPU in 2019.

Cryorig H7 is a better cooler for a similar price, hard to find right now though with the tarriff shenanigans. Also to everyone saying upgrade to 2600/3600, I get the impression he only plays wow. Not sure it’s worth it in that regard.

Also since it’s AM4 he can always change the cpu later.

The 3600 stock is 2% slower than a 9900K stock. Unless he’s in Ashran the 3600 is the top value king in that regard. IF OCed 3700x will overtake the 9900K in WoW but the money and time involved is not worth it imo.

They are saying get those because the 2300x is OEM only chip

Only 4 cores and 4 threads boosting at 3.5 GHz

Think they meant get a system with a 2600 or 3600

Even if he only plays WoW, a 4 core chip is silly to buy in 2019.

I’m assuming this is a pre-built system somewhere.

Its not a great system, TBH. Its weirdly imbalanced.

Low-end, Quad-core only chip with no SMT.

A single 8GB DIMM in the default config is a sign that said OEM/Builder is cutting corners.

The 240GB SSD + 1TB drive is a “combo drive” - which means its probably using AMDs Optane-like caching feature (i cant remember the name right now) - which is really not optimal.

X470 motherboard with said low-end OEM only quad core chip is insane overkill.

You’d probably be a LOT better off building it yourself and putting together a machine that makes more sense together.

Bare minimum i’d go is the 3400G (purely for being an affordable 4c/8t part) but getting a 2600 is probably a better bet and not a lot more expensive.

No need for an X470 motherboard pretty much ever unless you’re doing enthusiast overclocking. A B450 Motherboard is plenty. (The B450 Tomahawk is pretty baller and not too expensive).

No real need for an RX 580 if you’re “just” doing WoW - a 570 is cheaper and will perform just as well. If you’re going to play other stuff, though, the extra expense on the 580 could be worth it.

This is a prebuilt I have already ordered and it’s on the way. Did upgrade to 16 gb memory.

Just would like it to last a couple years and use it for Wow and Swtor only.

If I can get 50fps on 7-9 I’ll be happy. I played WOD and Legion just fine on an Amd fx6300. Started acting up with BFA pre patches and finally pooped out. The day before BFA launched! Been without wow since. This is all I can afford right now.

What resolution do you play on? Because with my 2700x, being lowered to 4 GHz to simulate the 2300x (it only boosts to 4.0 GHz)

I play great at 4k resolution, 60 fps, so if anything you should be ok assuming you are at 1080p
