New PC Help

Budget $1,200.

I usually buy my PCs but this time I am looking to build my own. For my budget what would you recommend? I already have mouse, keyboard, monitor, headset, so just looking for the PC itself.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is a sample build before tax. Normally I am of the philosophy of buy it if you need it now. Nvidia seems like its about to drop their new card in September. If you can wait for 1-2 months (assuming you’re able to nab one ) great. If not then you can get this now. Though people will start selling their used gpu soon so you will see stock soar in the used market if you’re okay with that. Craigslist, Ebay, and other private/3rd party sellers should have them.

Not a bad build - I’d add that it’s probably smart to wait for Ryzen 4000 at this point, though.

Thank you. I am going to purchase soon as the PC I am using currently is nine years old.

Should I be concerned with these from the list you built?

Compatibility Notes

Note: NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case has a front panel USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C port, but the MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard does not have sufficient USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Gen 1 headers. The case USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C port will not be usable.

Note: The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports are disabled.

Note: Some physical dimension restrictions cannot (yet) be automatically checked, such as cpu cooler / RAM clearance with modules using tall heat spreaders.
  1. You just won’t be able to use the usb C port that is available on the case. There is a a USB Type C on the motherboard’s rear I/O if you need a type C usb.

  2. The selected m.2. SSD uses SATA interface, that’s why it will disable SATA slots. Check the motherboard manual to determine which one. You’re free to swap a regular 2.5in SSD

  3. Unless you pick a very specific CPU cooler that causes interference, most of the popular models will fit just fine.

-Edit: Engrish is hard

Thank you. I plan to just use the standard cooler that comes with the Ryzen. For the MB issues, should I just spend a little more and get a better MB?

if you aren’t overclocking or planning on upgrading the CPU in a few years, then as long as it has the features you want then it doesn’t really matter that much.

if it really bothers you cause you want the front usb type c then you can get this board. Not taking shots at you, I also get bothered by these things too.
