New patch notes just dropped. No balance Druid

Patch noted dropped. Balance Druid was not mentioned. Now, after the AWC, we saw that if you play out of your mind with a great healer and great outlaw rogue, you can have success. But… COME ON! all we need in one more defensive, or a buff to our heals. A great change would be Blooming infusion making regrowth proc automatically after 5 starsurges. Venruki and I think most player want all specs to be A tier. Fun, and if mastered can go up against every other class. Balance Druid is right on the cusp of being just solid. The damage is in a great spot, it’s just the defense.

Am i missing something about ur suggestion? Blooming infusion alrdy makes regrowth instant cast after 5 starsurges? How does saving us one global do anything for us? also, then u couldnt save the regrowth or cast it on anyone else.

We need 2 charges of barkskin and/or survival instincts minimum.

A defensive buff is certainly needed. I suspected as much playing my boomy this season - I got Legend multiple times last expac and just felt like I’ve been falling over in this one.

Recently geared my disc priest and it confirmed my suspicions - boomy is far and away the most difficult spec I’ve had to heal at the moment. In a meta where there’s so many little sources of consistent magic damage and cleave, going bear/FR feels like it does absolutely nothing most of the time(not even factoring in dampening and MS effect). It needs an other charge of barkskin or something. The defensive kit just feels so outdated in the current game.

They need to bring back or up the armor bonus form going into moonkin form. Used to be able to tank quite a bit but now we get shredded.

I agree the armor on moonkin form needs to be buffed. I see attacks go out and the party takes 1/6th HP loss, Balance Druid in the group. 2/3rds HP loss on the same attack.

I also welcome having two charges of Barkskin. Addiing survival instincts just adds button bloat so pass there.

Also seems like swapping to bear and casting Frenzied Regen, doesn’t stay on the Moonkin upon leaving bear form?

Yea, just another reason it’s an absolutely horrible “defensive” in this meta. 5 globals spent doing nothing just to heal 20%(in PVP and affected by dampening and MS). It’s not even worth to press in PVP anymore. You’re better off just counter pressuring or trying to cast clone in this meta.

Make Boomy Tanky Again!

I’m levelling a mage again. It’s fun, strong – but its’ a different playstyle.

It’s unfortunate that class archetype ‘philosophy’ was lost with the years.
Plate > Mail > Leather > Cloth = durability---->mobility

It’s less so that this philosophy was lost, and more so that almost all melee had too much non-physical damage baked into their damage profiles. Which obviously makes armor less relevant.

Well put, and a great way to address it. Let’s also not forget the increased amount of mobility cooldowns, Micro-CC, MS effects and disruptive pets and NPC gimmicks. Boomy in particular struggles a lot with those. It just feels like it’s behind on tools and has to use more GCDs than other classes do. Add on top of that a reliance on dispellable DoTs and a rotation that requires multiple GCDs of ramp-up only to be locked-in to “spam this spell” phases… and you get quite a struggling class overall :confused: And even if the tuning is good, it will still feel clunky and outdated, until the fundamental design problems are (hopefully) addressed EARLY into the next expansion’s development cycle… :smiley:
(Basically my long-term argument is that the re/un/prunings since WoD were rushed, uneven and rugged. I actually really liked how Boomy felt in BfA)

To clarify, I don’t want Boomy to have any of these unique tools the other classes have.
I merely want it to have more passive survivability, so we can get our meaningful spells off in the competition.
I personally WOULD even take a durability, defensive or recovery buff as a trade-off, at the expense of some damage element or a nerf to Cyclone.

So the ideas that have been shared in here are great. To clarify about the regrowths being instant. If you think that the heal that barely heals is would help someone else, it doesn’t. I am saying that when spamming starsurges into your target, it would be nice to not take your foot off the gas to heal for 1/16th your bar and just have it apply, this way you don’t have to manage counting 5 SS’s. Unless they just allow the heal from blooming infusion to heal for 20-30% more, then I would say keeep it the way it is so we can throw an off heal. I think the extra bark skin would be great, doing away with the GCD of shifting (this was implemented when shifting to bear form healed you for 3% of your health and was broken ((“bear healing”). Armor brought back to Moonkin form would be nice but that only stops physical damage, so warriors and hunters. I’d say that boomie form just needs a small flat percentage of damage reduction from all sources. Nothing broken but 2-4% would be nice.

That is what I’m asking for in terms of making Moonkin more tanky. All types of damage, as running keys I feel a big difference in party hits when I’m the chicken. 1/6th party 2/3rds myself. Same attack, and at times even with barkskin heh.
