Developers’ notes: Beast Mastery is continuing to overperform across all content, so we’re bringing down their baseline power and apex talent damage and making smaller adjustments to individual hero talent trees.
Marksmanship is getting a small bump in AOE paired with a few buffs to underperforming spells like Kill Shot and Volley.
For Survival, we’re buffing up Wildfire Bomb’s single target damage bonus to ensure it isn’t being forgotten about in Pack Leader’s single target rotation and tamping down Sentinel since its already overperforming and poised to gain a significant boost from the Wildfire Bomb single target damage bonus. -

Moon’s Blessing now grants 4 seconds of Wildfire Bomb cooldown reduction (was 6 seconds).

i know hatchet toss is still weak and hogstrider node is still avoided by meta so did they forget to buff it?

idk how bm is considered outperforming in all content id say it was maybe A tier at best.. but survival gets a buff meanwhile wildfire bomb in pvp all but 1 shots groups of people

Wildfire bomb is not even close to 1 shotting anyone.
Boomstick is the where the kill potential of SV is in PvP. And that’s also not a one shot btw. It does a ton of damage, but it’s over the full duration of a channel.
I don’t think base hatchet toss is supposed to be anything other than a tool to pull mobs, I don’t see them changing that but who knows.
God forbit BM hunter would be S tier. Only mages are consistently allowed there, I guess. The hate for BM hunters in Bliz headquarters is still real.
BM was the meta DPS for all of season 3 in keys and raid and have several seasons where they’re insanely good in raid. The nerfs are for midnight
If its just a tool and a proc for other abilities it needs its focus cost changed to nothing and just be on GCD so we cant just auto clicker it for crazy damage thought that be a funny. And if it ment to be part of rotation when kiting then its needs be like 200%-300% damage at 10-15 focus with 1.5 sec gcd.
Not all of season 3, no. BM hunters were absolute garbage at the start of season 3. Changes to Dark Ranger made it good for M+ but still bad in raid. Maybe it got better after I quit towards the mid of the season. But being good in the end of the season no one cares about kinda not the same? BM was also really good last xpack in season 4 (again most people don’t play* at that point) then got nerfed to oblivion at the start of TWW.
My brother, who is a Warlock with 155 gear, is now easily outscaling my BM PL Hunter. As an Affliction Warlock, he literally presses 4 buttons. ![]()
I’ve noticed that most of these “competition” teams don’t care to use hunters, except mythic+. Why? You don’t know how to even things out when it comes to classes and specs.
Who in the hell is running the show when it comes to designing Hunters? Fire the person or team in a heartbeat! Learn how to properly make each class and spec fair. Making an excuse and pretty much saying, “Let us destroy your class and/or spec, and we’ll falsely say they’re too powerful.”
You’ve made DR powerful, and threw PL to the side and are letting the carts run on top of them as they fight for air while in the mud. Technically, you’re barrying PL and making DR a mid rage spec.
What raid were you actually doing? Dark ranger was burst was insane in raid
This correct. BM after getting full gear was doing massive damage on Beta, so Blizzard is doing a preemptive nerf before Midnight. This isn’t the first time they done this, and means you will need to wait for the power increases.
Casuals are just too doomer nowadays and think they’ll be locked out of the game cause they one trick a spec and it got tuned
Why don’t they first properly adjust the skills, then tweak the armor set? They’re doing things backwards. looks downwards while shaking head in confusion
Cause Blizzard likes to find a quicker fix than take more time away to adjust the specs. Wait until the raid comes out, and when they start seeing real numbers they start buffs.
