New Patch 8.1 $43 Frog Mounts

Yep, in this new, relatively goldless expansion we'll be getting three 333,333 gold mounts, all frogs. Instead of placing them into the Blizzard Shop for $43 each (@ 115,000 gold per token) they'll be in-game.

In Legion, these mounts would have been $24 each @ 208k gold. Now that Blizz has tanked the economy (to sell more tokens) the frogs average $43 at the current rate.

Save for herbing/oreing (not immersive), playing the AH (not immersive), or standing in town harping trade chat (political/troll/ad immersion), all for at least an hour of your life daily, actually playing the game proper (as in Legion) will not yield respectable amounts of gold today.

The new Blizzard (since Activision) seems more interested in progressively pushing players away and having the remainers pay the difference and beyond. I'd rather see the game back at over 10M active players with fewer "gold sinks" than the relative few these days.

Edit: Just for contrast, Longboi (AH mount) would be $652 USD @ 115k per token.
Lawd I hate frogs!

That's like the AH mount I just want to buy it with a credit card instead of waiting a month buying 10 token limit a week.
Lol.. the gold will flow in BfA, eventually. They're frogs. who wants to ride a frog.
I'd rather get the lightforged warframe than those. But I won't, either because I'd rather spend my gold on something like mogs.
If you are buying tokens with real money to get gold to then buy gold sink mounts, you are doing it wrong.

Just sayin'.

But by all means, do that, since that will drive up the supply of tokens on the AH, thereby driving down their gold price, allowing me to get more value for my gold when I buy the tokens off of the AH.

So since Late Wrath? Are you sure about that? Or do you not understand how these companies are structured?

You do realize that gold generation today is less than 1/10th of what it was in Legion (playing the game), right? And that the token isn't even half of what it was near the end of Legion... so, really, you have to work 5-6x more today at least per token.

I mean, that's fine if you're into working a sweatshop.

/moo (I guess)

Remind me, whenabout did WoW's sub rate begin to tank?
I am 100% blown away when people say they regularly purchase tokens and exchange them for gold.

I guess I’ve just never been in a situation where I had so much expendable income that throwing money into the void for purely digital items felt anything other than idiotic. I’ve done it twice (once in pokemon go and once in WoW) and I went out of my way to get a refund for the first one because I felt like the world’s biggest fool.
Yeah because it was so immersive for people to get gold from mission tables in WoD and Legion.

It's nothing to be blown away over, if people have disposable income, why waste time grinding gold.

Yeah, those plentiful 300-500g world quests on Argus and a bit less in other zones had anything to do with mission tables. Tell you what, you can have an option to keep your BfA world quests rewarding 70g and few of them, and the rest of us will get multiple Argus-level gold rewards, oh and some sort of 'boon' effect later, too... maybe even a new tier of the campaign board that works like Legion champ equipment.
If they want to nuke passive and active gold making. Thats fine. But then mounts and the like from this point on should be much, much cheaper.

I mean... I'm going broke slowly just buying seals every week on 3 toons. World content is neither engaging nor rewarding, so I do my warfront resource quests, log in and rotate my missions and log out. Maybe I'm just burned out.

Everything is a chore and I feel very little joy in any end of the content spectrum anymore.

Oh for sure, you probably made a fortune from doing gold world quests. Tell you what, you have no choice about how much gold you're going to get from world quests (which were always terrible gold/hr) and I'll make the real gold by knowing how to play the game properly. How's that sound bud?

lol @ thinking you're getting free gold missions again.

Sure thing. I, absolutely made more from world quests alone then you probably have the entire time you've been playing the game.

I love how you keep going back to mission tables nobody else has brought them up, and my one mention of them was quite dismissive.

Reading comprehension: F
Blizzard ISNT tanking the economy, friend.
They are bleeding excessive gold from the economy and so helping stifle the inflation problem that Legion CAUSED by giving out gold like a hooker gives out STDs.

I dont like being gold starved either, but better that now so the value of gold itself is increased rather than a stupid junk mount costing 500k here soon.

Mounts I bought for 40k last year were going for 4 freakin times that on two servers Im on later in legion and in BfA now.
Yeah, RICH players can afford that, but NEW, POOR players cant.

You didnt need to bring them up. They were part of the easy gold problem in Legion. WAY too much gold being thrown out, especially for players with a dozen freaking characters on one server all pulling in free gold for basically doing nothing beyond breathing and existing.

Its Blizzards fault for cheapening gold and thus driving up the price of nearly everything.
Now they seem to be trying to remedy the situation.
Lets let them do that and stop whining till we see how it all pans out.
Umm you're angry they're trying to maybe working their way towards people actually paying for subs?

Ideally everything would be free right?

so logging into the app and pressing few buttons for the gold missions were playing the game proper way ?

I am not here to defend Blizzard introducing expensive mounts into the game but Legion economy was worse than BFA. BFA economy suffer because BFA is a terrible expension and people have left/are leaving.
The problem with this kind of deflation is that it hurts poorer players more than the rich who have been hoarding gold since WoD and Legion.

I'd like to see a large buff in WQ gold at the very least.
they should lower them to 33,333g

300k is unreasonable.
