I just have to get this off my chest because it’s driving me insane. I’m just hoping at least ONE blizzard employee reads this.
I’m a new parent that VERY casually plays. (I have three toons that are in their low 20s) Between work, hanging out with my wife, and taking care of my newborn child I hardly get any personal time to just game. When I game I really enjoy playing WoW Classic. I never played retail WoW. I don’t do raids, I don’t do any high level dungeons. I talk with people and I do quests. I typically do this between 9-11 at night after the wife has gone to bed and the baby is asleep. The past few days I haven’t been able to do that because the queues are over 3 hours long. I haven’t been able to just relax and quest like I normally do. What the hell am I paying a monthly subscription for if I can’t just hop on a game and play???

Well, you are playing on Herod im assuming since you’re from Anime Mafia. Herod was always advertised as a full server so queues are to be expected during the rona lockdown and more so on tuesdays and new patch days
If you don’t care for endgame content and your toons are only 20s…
just pick a small server, then if you’ll get single again and quarantine is over - transfer to a bigger one

Yeah it sucks. I’m not sure why they are waiting several days to reactivate layers, especially with ZG being released and their thread having over 2k responses.
I understand their reason for caution, layering was abused hardcore and they said before launch it would be gone by P2, but this pandemic was unforeseen and is a good enough reason to reactivate layers for many servers.
Roll on a server without queues.

Because layers SHOULD NOT COME BACK. They need to stop trying to apply bandaids to cuts that need stitches.
Add layering and the mega servers get flooded with people who are trying to take advantage of the double spawns and farming spots anyways. You make the issue worse without addressing the actual problem.
It’s a lazy cop out non-solution

Congrats on the new little one. New-ish parent myself here. Making time to relax and play games is a bit of a struggle 
Honestly, a less populated server might make your experience more enjoyable though.

Well they’ve closed transfers and new character creation so server flooding won’t be an issue - now all we need is layers so we can actually log in and play.
I honestly don’t care about any form of economy right now - not being able to log in having every raid night compromised and being constantly paranoid about a random disconnect are much more problematic than a few extra world resources.
I like every other person is paying for a service that is inaccessible right now and that’s the only problem that should be focused on.

There are literally dozens of them to choose from.
You guys are recommending he re-roll on a different server, but he shouldn’t have to. He should get a free transfer of all of his characters. Having a few level 20s took him a long time (RL days). It would be one thing if it was a free to play game, but it isn’t.
Coming from a casual player in a similar situation I would say cancel your sub and tell Blizz exactly why on your way out. Come back when things are better, or don’t. Blizz can’t even get this game right the second time around with 14 years MMORPG management under their belt.
What would the reason why on the way out be? “I chose a full server despite other options and it’s all your fault”?
Spoiler - Blizzard doesn’t care if or why you quit. Why y’all trying to ice skate uphill? Just reroll on a lower pop server. It’s really easy to do.

Play on a different realm. You don’t have any serious obligations, and you’re only level 27. Rerolling shouldn’t be a big deal for you.
