its just with neatease and if you read the page on them selling stuff in shops they are removing competition
I feel like people would just report anyone and everyone
No penalty for false reports? Get ready for a jillion reports NetEase
This was already share, please delete your thread.
Must have gotten pushed down in the subforum then as I didn’t see it.

Authoritarian state training people to report their neighbor…
Everyone walking on eggshells saying nothing in fear someone will whisper their name to the secret police and say you broke the ToS.
The Sound of Silence.
hello darkness, my old friend…
It’s really creepy how the whole culture just gamifies collaboration with Big Brother. Getting that social credit up as high as possible, so that some day they’ll let you ride the train and get a second ration of mystery meat (we’re headed that way too).
More like training some machine learning AI to recognize bot “profiles” like routes and casts that botters share and sell to each other.
This really is how you crowdsource AI training, it’s not nefarious.
We aren’t “socialism with Chinese characteristics,” which takes legal action against video games.
Yeah, I’d love to abuse a system wanting to prevent abuse for rewards…
Zumakind threads are radioactive and everyone is better staying away from that walking, typing toxic sludge.
How accurate is that crowd? How many times have you seen false reporting lead to “This content has been hidden…” on these forums?
Fear and self censorship… Someone is always watching… Those are the goals.
Training isn’t actioning.
It’s so they can obtain datasets first, to eventually filter out reports to action on later.
Or would people prefer the current method of actioning w/o this AI?

You really don’t want that though. Because general conduct isn’t something that should be “hunted down.” To report bad behaviour that goes against the ToS is a good thing, but only as long as we don’t have a way to confirm whether or not we were able to “target” a player.
If a player breaks ToS and they get reported, they should face consequences for that. What shouldn’t happen is that we encourage people to act as the police and seek out these situations.
However… with that said, one could actually make good use of this with a different kind of reports: botters.
Since Blizzard ban bots in waves that means that we don’t get immediate feedback, which means that bots don’t get the information necessary to rebuild them immediately to avoid bans and reports. But it would also encourage people to actively report bots especially since those reports weigh far heavier on people’s accounts than nearly any other kind of conduct.
Not to mention this would further empower Blizzard to target bots, making players more proactive in finding and reporting them. And as long as they were to give out currency that cannot be transferred (no, Battle.net currency is neat but not necessarily a good thing) that has no direct or implicit impact on gameplay … we’d have a good incentive whilst also not negatively impacting the general gameplay loop. Something like “For each bot banned that you reported when a ban wave hits, you get 10 trader’s tenders.”
So one can make use of it, but it is unlikely to be a good thing for the game’s overall health the world over if it was implemented like NetEase is implementing it.
You’re preaching to the wrong person then.
I’m dead set on Blizzard trying anything and everything and funding their anti-cheat team properly. WoW has been suffering immensely due to bots and scripters.
In b4 a bunch of players find out a way to abuse this for B-net balance, lol.
This isn’t justice, at least it’s not gonna result the way they think it will.
In WoW, bots will actually fight back and mass-report players that report them- it’s usually just not worth it from the player’s perspective.
Ehm… I’m advocating for it as well, but just pointing out that there are social ramifications since NetEase is doing this for any infraction not just because of bots and gold makers. Even if those are the primary targets.
My point is how to make the system actually applicable in a good way that could be implemented around the world. Not just NetEase doing NetEase things because… NetEase.
while that is a fine goal blizzard might do
but with netease they are not doing it to protect the game they are removing any competition they might have
I think this is a thing over there specifically for gold farmers.
Its not just for people being mean. Im sure u get more points for reporting gold farmers
They’re declaring witches, deputizing everyone to be witch hunters, and offering bounties.
Instead of encouraging tolerance, understanding, and forgiveness, they are giving everyone a weapon for vengeance.
This will turn into all out war with competitors organising “hits” on each other by having their minions shadowing and baiting their competition.
Don’t worry about it, or the rude demand you got to remove it. Multiple threads are no big deal unless there’s a whole bunch of them.
