Premium cash shop with macrotransactions in a subscription based game, whilst releasing largely reskins for, “new” mounts and these store mounts being almost completely unique.
I personally don’t care in the slightest about mounts and pets, but it’s irritating to see.

A company trying to maximize its profits? 
If people didn’t want it, they wouldn’t buy it. You realize that’s how businesses make money? Selling products people want.
I can’t believe people are complaining about a FREE mount.

If they never release another in-game earnable mount again other than for mythic raiders, and instead put every mount on the shop, but crack down on run selling for cash, I’d consider than an improvement.
Well, Blizzard has always supported Chinese New Year within WoW, and Chinese New Year starts on January 25th, and this year it is the Year of the Rat, so…

It’s not free. These 6 month deals never are, especially since the timing is usually during a content drought where a lot of people unsubscribe.
The funny thing is that that’s a regular size rat. Gnomes are just that small.
That might be the underlying issue. Edge tweens and Razor queens having their livelihood put in questioned.
Chronic complains have to complain. That’s what they live for.
Actually these mount promotions are planned months in advance, between 6 to 8 months usually, which means Blizzard has no way of knowing if the mount will drop during a period of sub losses or not.
