New Mini-Game Idea - Drawing on Challenge Modes and Mage Tower

So how about solo content, that’s made to make us better players overall.

I feel like the mage tower and challenge modes did so in their own way, and I value them so much for that.

I envision a new mini-game format that’s a little more based around making you better more granularly within the tier itself.

Each game could take anywhere from 4-8 minutes and doesn’t necessarily have to be combat based. It could be stuff like an obstacle course/ puzzle jumping /etc - but the key thing is that it somehow incorporates some of the more difficult mechanics in the game at that time. So mechanics from raid or M+ would be splashed in and would give players a way of getting more exposure in order to help improve.

Rewards could be similar to WQs - nothing crazy, but worth it for the fun and practice.

Thoughts?

Its a good idea in theory… in practice no one mechanic is really all that hard. The difficulty comes from multiple ones over lapping.

Please, no. Jumping puzzles don’t belong in MMOs. They’re not built for them. I still have trauma from that awful jellyfish WQ.

I don’t really like jumping puzzles when they’re as hard as GW2 - but if they’re semi-easy in combination with some of the other ideas and limited to only a few of the games, I think itcould work.

WoW terrain just isn’t consistent enough. Play a mage and after every third blink only moves 2 inches because of a pebble, I think you might understand.

So Proving Grounds 2.0?

It seems like legions kirin tor quests, nazjatar stuff like the bejeweled minigame, or sl zereth mortis cyphers with a bit of spice injected from what im reading? If so i say bring it on! I loved all those.

I even liked the tortollan wqs in bfa.

Yeah this would have to get ironed out for sure.

At least with Dragon riding, people who’ve launched themselves into the air, only to slam right into a tree branch and lose all their momentum, can kind of understand.
