New mentor

Whatever you want cupcake.
Many mmos, and the video game industry as a whole, copy each other mostly QOL stuff, which is what this is.

Yes. That’s the only feature that could possibly be copied from any MMO by any company.

Incredible.

See the situation you are talking about is kind of what turned new players away and why blizzard is changing leveling with how the xpacs will be an entire 1-50 experience.

They can’t just cater to the esport crowds (that’s both raiders, m+, and pvpers)

Wow decency for a price…SMH.

Yes! I will go out of my way to assist a new player. If I see people trolling a player I try to figure out if they are new first. You don’t give the same answer to a long term player since they will know where most things are and new players will not. I will whisper them and talk them through their questions.

I have made some really good friends this way, one who I have finally met in RL.

I think they tried a mentoring guild years ago.

For PvP? I’m not sure how in the midst of fighting in a BG a person will get an answer to their question? Perhaps giving them guidance on objectives? As a casual PvPer I would not be able to answer questions about arenas.

Other than that, I would sign up for this.

people ask me to donate to the children’s fund, I said why, what have the children ever done for me?

Doh! It’s not what the children can do for YOU, but what you can do for them. I can’t imagine being a selfish person like you, but to each their own.

Anyways the topic was mentoring new players, guess that would be a HARD PASS from you.

sometimes I spray a handful of quarters in the street and watch the homless guys dodge in and out of traffic

I mean the money usually being asked to donate to at the grocery store generally never actually reaches it’s targeted audience.

I do casual PvP mentoring. Just entry level stuff for battlegrounds and wPvP since I haven’t touched arenas seriously in years. (Mostly helping people with anxiety get used to it all, and teaching keybinds and basic builds.)

This sort of chat isn’t really going to happen /in/ a battleground. People seek advice outside the actual instances, and in the chats I’m in we tend to pull the people wanting to learn into Discord so they can ask questions on the fly once they’re queuing.

This feature can easily be used as a tool to find actual new players who want to learn, and pull them into the right places. It can also be used to find people who are hopefully not going to treat them like garbage because they’re new/bad.

I’ve been casually playing this game for over 12 years and i will do this for basic in-game stuff which i know alot about.

BUT it would be cool to see people who know alot about arena do this to help people get their feet wet in rated pvp

There is nothing more impactful in pvp than someone who knows what their doing plays with you so you can practice and get some helpful tips along the way.

I’ve casually played pvp forever and even getting into arena for me was a bit sticky being that i had no experience ( actually trying to rank up ) in the field.

Its 2020, if there where people who could mentor pvp players perhaps they should be allowed to get some dope rewards for it?

I dunno sorry for the rambles, just know how impactful a helping hand is in this game.
