New Mark of the Wild is BAD

Blizzard,

Please rethink what your plans are for Motw. This used to be one of the BEST buffs in the game and while I am ecstatic you are bringing it back…your iteration is a bit underwhelming. It is very weak and rather pathetic.

Please, make it BEEFY. Simply make it like it used to be blizzard!

Max level MOTW: Increase armor +500
Increase all stats +100

Now this is a worthwhile buff. It is not overpowered but it is something that a person would want for any type of content. Please! This would be simple to fix. Don’t make it so weak it wouldn’t matter if we had it or not. We want to FEEL it!

It’s not Mark of the wild. Let’s call it what it is…

Leader of the pack *lite

thats exactly what it is. and im ok with that since ive wanted lotp to come back

Yo, you realize a lot of people don’t want buffs, correct?

I, among many others, don’t want to feel forced into bringing even MORE classes/specs than already is required. I’d honestly prefer they just straight up get rid of buffs, period, or if not then at least make them all do nothing but 3 of the 4 tertiary stats: avoidance (up to 5% cap), leech (up to 3 or 5% cap) and speed (up to 5% cap) and nothing more.

They’re so absurdly stupid that you feel forced into reserving raid spots over just bringing the player instead of the class. “Bring the class, not the player” was such a dumb motto.

Give Drums back to full hero status so you don’t need to have a Shaman, Hunter or Mage. Get rid of Healthstones, get rid of the closet and give everyone a “teleport: X” where X is whatever raids are the current expansions. Then get rid of every other raid buff and just let people play.

I’d actually be surprised if they didn’t tone down this version of MotW, it’s incredibly powerful in a raid setting.

I agree, especially for tanks. The reduced magic damage is huge.

I like buffs, I like classes bringing unique buffs to a raid or party setting.

I like the idea of different, unique, and diverse individuals coming together to form something stronger as a whole.

As opposed to a bunch of homogenized same feeling individuals coming together for no added bonus or becoming stronger.

I wonder…MOTW is a pretty strong buff. Is this a sign that druids as a class will be very weak, and MOTW is suppoosed to get them groups? ^^

That’d be a tad excessive to be honest. I think it’s current iteration, if I read correctly, is more than enough to be considered potent. Damage reduction and crit? It’s really good.

i’d like to see it go back to being a stat buff again personally :100:

Honestly, I think it should just be changed to Speed and Versatility – maybe increase the % of versatility given slightly to, say, 5% Vers, and 3% Speed.

I would love a Vers increase but I don’t see it happening. If they want to make it truly unique, increase all of the tertiary stats to a base 3-5%.

Speed
Leech
Avoidance
Dodge

It wouldn’t be OP by itself but I think that it would give people more benefit than a Fort Buff. It would be interesting to see how some classes would preform with these stats in the 8-10% range.

Yes please.

That’d be me. The more buffs come back, the more slots you need to allocate for those specific roles/classes.

And if you don’t bring them, then you’re just shooting yourself in the foot.

I’m with you. I honestly think raid specific things like buffs, even Hero/Lust/Timewarp shouldn’t be a thing in the game. Same thing with lock closets and healthstones, too.

Just give everyone a teleport crystal to the raid that has a 30 second CD. It ports you right to the entrance of the raid. Don’t make huge raids and yeah.

i haven’t really felt this…i play m+ so maybe it’s different than a raider, but i’ve done plenty of keys without stat buff classes (Intelllect/Stamina). couldn’t really say it affected me too much, since i’ve pushed pretty high without either class.

idk if mark with a minor stat increase (all stats) would break anything tbh…if anything, it would make druid more desirable, regardless of their spec. which is a problem we see with our class right now. :100:

(btw i’m not saying that you’re wrong necessarily, i just don’t see another stat buff as a game breaking issue for some groups, in the same way that not having a bloodlust feels).

It is impossible to get every buff in keys of course.
But having physical vs caster does make quite a substantial difference.

Monk+Warr bring physical buff.
DH+Mage bring magic buff.
Enha extra swings.

When I run a key with a warrior & monk, I sit at solid 18-19k overall, and without them at 17ish.

This is purely for raid scenario of 20 people in Mythic and flex in all other.

Except this is classwide, wherease Lotp was a great Feral unique perk that incentivized diversifying your druid spread instead of the usual resto/balance druid oligopoly.

Give the crit back to feral and bear as leader and switch the speed for leech.

Make mark itself give versatility, that covers the armor increase, magic resistance and damage increase original mark gave all in one stat.

3% flat damage and healing and 1.5% damage reduction is a garunteed bonus to every class and spec while crit varies on use just between druid’s 4 specs.

That or just a chunk of all tertiary stats. Not as useful damage wise but is seems pretty flavorful and good for survivability.
