It says Thursday November 30th, but today’s the 30th and it’s a Wednesday! Muh Goodness!
They must mean November 30th next year. That’s a thursday. This must be in response to people wanting more advanced notice of scheduled maintenance. ![]()
Who touched the bronze hourglass again?!
I’ll be honest though this might be weird for some … I rather have a multi hour maintenance on one day than successively having one hour maintenance days in a row.
For one it indicates to me a lack of confidence the team has in how to fix whatever if they keep saying “hmm well let’s try another restart or hot fix tomorrow see if that works” versus a full maintenance day at least makes me think “ok they scheduled six hours today they must have real fixes to apply that they feel good about if they will disrupt the game and upset players by doing so”.
So yeah I never feel the one hour deals fix anything and it means they are just fishing for solutions.
Well, can’t complain about that!
More likely they have some of the fixes ready and tested and the rest are on a tiered priority list.
XPACs are always a struggle at the beginning.
It’s difficult to properly stress test things, to test not only every spell, but every spell under every condition under which it can be cast by every race and specialization that can cast it.
Rolling updates, even daily down time, for a week or so is normal for any complex system without a solid, fully scaled testing region (just not practical with something like WoW).
We’re all living in the Beta right now.
That doesn’t mean they don’t know what they’re doing.
It means we have to live with that until things stablize.
they can’t even get their days right, no wonder the game has so many bugs
Just wish I could play after work for once, server goes down an hour after I get home every day. Maybe they’ll be up this weekend.
Same issue my wife is dealing with right now. She gets home from work; we finally sit down and create are new dracthyr only to have the server go down. Just some launch issue blues, which will be worked out soonish I hope.
You act as if there is one thing they are hotfixing multiple times to try to fix.
I am sure there are tens/hundreds of bugs they have on a list they are tending to. Sometimes they find a more major one that requires some downtime.
Id rather important fixes be done ASAP rather than try to batch everything into 1 day a week, leaving bugs sitting.
