This wouldnt necessarily be a bad idea. People would still populate those areas + surrounding ones.
Its not like flying makes the world more populated. It just wastes peoples time that they could have spent doing something else in game
Ps. Atm you can buy summon services to hotspots around the map from shady mutiple account running players that most likely fuels rmt as its lucrative af. 15g a summon usually, adding extra portal locations would destroy this practice overnight tbh

They used to sell a lot of summons on WG but then Blizz put a stop to it. Haven’t seen much of this lately.
New portals are a great idea tough, but one that could easily be solved with summing stones working.
However, portals to all these areas would be pretty cool also and add something new to the game. Could be learned by a reputation vendor at friendly, or the faction portal master at friendly.
Activate a network of portals around the world that anyone can use, make up a lore reason for it. Place them in parts of Azeroth that are lesser-traveled, sights often unseen, but once known can speed up globetrotting.
