Hey all,
Brand new mage here for BFA. Just hit 120 (frost) and while my iLvL is extremely low (300) I definitely feel week amongst much of anything.
Question was, as a frost mage, am I viable even when I get better gear, and how are my talents looking right now?
Usually use FB/IL a lot, and flurry when it procs. Am I doing this right? Thanks!
Frost is dope and very viable. I do both mythic+ and raid content and never have any problems getting in to groups. In fact, I’m often #1 on the dps meters across both AoE and Single target.
It’s viable in PvP as well, but sitting in a shadow behind fire.
For rotation, definitely look to youtube and find an 8.1.5 guide (nothing has changed).
Thank you!
Do you find after a certain ilvl, you don’t have issues with open world content?
Anything beyond a certain amount of mobs atm can wreck me.
My mage is around 370 ilvl as a dirty casual and there is very little that I have issues with in the open world. I run frost 80% of the time. It’s fun.
Mage has been such a fun class for me so far - loving the glass cannon aspect. I can say that what you want to get out of the class depends heavily on the spec you choose. Frost mage has excellent CC and is therefore great all-around. For PvP I’m loving the burst damage that fire is offering but it’s definitely limited to PvP. Do NOT attempt a mythic run with fire. Arcane seems to be reaping some high DPS in raids at the moment from what I’ve heard.
Appreciate it everyone.
And @Voidedsun - such a dope transmog.
Voidedsun looks like he should be in Slipknot. Very nice mog.
