New m+ solution proposal

For those who are saying there’s a problem with leavers in keys;
An option to set the key status to completion or timing when inserting, where whichever option you choose gets blatantly labeled on everyone’s screen…
Once the key is inserted, a 20 second timer initiates with the status of the keys label. If anybody leaves during the 20 second timer, the key aborts until you replace that person and reinsert the key.
Players that leave “completion keys” before a 1 hour timer are punished with a 6 hour leaver ban. Asking for more than 1 hour is too much. Players doing completion keys should also be able to swap out players, and be ineligible for key difficulty upgrades and io gains, and their key should not change dungeons, at the sacrifice of lower loot drop rates to prevent spamming them for valor.
Players doing timed keys can leave the key with no punishment.
This would also be a cool solution to the problem of people wanting to practice specific dungeons but their key keeps changing.

One hour is a bit steep. You can tell within the first 15 minutes whether or not you have a marathon key on your hands. Whichever key you have at any given time just isn’t valuable enough to warrant all these “fixes”. There must be 10 of every key and dungeon being run at any given time.

Exactly. Trolls/Bad players will be able to hold people hostage with the threat of a 6 hour lockout

My experience has also been that if a key is going to break up it usually happens in really quickly (not always though, had a guy leave a +12 DoS yesterday 1 pull before the Xymer because the timer expired).

Honestly I don’t think anything needs to change, but maybe give the key holder an option to end the key and it stays as is as long as the first boss hasn’t been killed yet. Kind of like a mythic raid where you aren’t locked out until the first boss dies.

I’m sure it will find some way to be abused or trolled though.

Yeah…I think the system is fine as is. Somewhere along the line it became this huge problem to just admit that certain runs need to bailed on. Don’t get me wrong, I like the never surrender attitude, but it’s not practical lol.

This. It’s kind of like a LoL game I played the other day. 1 player voted no on surrender and said “one of them could dc.”

NO.

Nothing stopping people from making a key that says “completion” and they are just carried trash looking for a forced carry.

Also, in an untimed, nothing stopping a person from leaving anyway. 6 hours is a small price to avoid an ultra incompetent group trying to mask their horrid gameplay by calling it a “chill” run. This proposed system would just make more problems.

Keep DPSing and nobody dies

You can already do no leaver keys. You are attempting to solve a problem that doesn’t exist.

I’m not holding my breath or anything, but would love to see a One-Time-Do-Over implemented where if the final boss of a dungeon hasn’t been engaged, the key can be restarted with no degrading. But it’s limited to one restart.

Dreamland wish is that keys wouldn’t degrade at all (unless done manually by the key holder), but that’s highly unlikely.

The proper solution is deserter debuff that starts at 3h

People would just afk.

Kick em, give em deserter, problem solved

People would troll others by kicking. You join a group of 4, they kick you after key starts, deserter debuff for 3h. Have fun.

Go to the blizzard website, talk to live chat, have them remove it. Problem solved.

Leavers and griefers need to be punished.

Sweet, so everyone can do that and have the debuff removed.

What’s the point of the debuff again?

Allow M+ que.

Or

Delete M+. Restore heroics to the top.

You must see the problem with that lol. I’ll kick you to ensure that I don’t get the debuff.
