New loot system is terrible imo

I don’t see the appeal. Can someone please tell me why blizz would think this is moving in the right direction? I believe they just moved backwards with this choice. /shrug

You don’t get the appeal of a loot system where the loot is freely tradable and doesn’t encourage speck stacking, without any side effects?

No, no I don’t get why people won’t like a system where they can get a drop nobody can even equip.

Yes, because we never had loot going to waste before. “someone needs these pants? No? ok…”

But yes, if you for some very strange reason decide to not bring any cloth wearers, you will be correctly punished. Stop spec stacking and you’ll be fine.

It is.

It needs to be changed back to personal loot.

The garbage loot system is just made to make you play longer. For high tier players it doesn’t matter because they just zip through everything. But this system makes the casual spend a lot more time, which is the bulk of their players.

This might sound crazy to you, but people dont like the current system because they don’t want to be punished. They think the idea of wanting punishments is quite bizarre.

Just bring a couple of clothies dude, its not that hard. They don’t bite

“Shoulda brought exactly three hunters bro, the system works, you’re just bad and deserve to be punished for playing with your group.”

Yes, because 3 legendary bows with no hunters is just a common everyday thing that we should judge systems around. It is just so likely to happen. This isn’t even the most extreme scenario imaginable.

Yes, a system that doesn’t drop equippable gear after hours of work is one that people will criticize. I’m shocked, shocked to hear people will be upset by this and prefer another system.

That’s not something to be proud of.

What if it drops a duplicate tank shield, an unneeded offhand and a mail shoulder that no one wants? How is that different?

Doesnt it feel amazing to see loot drop that isnt for your class.

then eventually something DOES drop that you can use, but its too low ilvl.

or even later, it drops, you can use it, its for your lvl

but you lose the roll

just makes you want to keep playing …

“fun”.

All you just described happens in personal loot

Potential upgrades vs. wasted loot. GL doesn’t solve your issue of “can equip, but don’t need.” Only GL currently adds the issue of “nobody can equip.”

An equippable drop is always a potential upgrade. You either have a higher Ilvl, or need different stats, so you don’t need it, you need a different boss or over leveled (or another drop, which GL doesn’t solve).
A drop nobody can equip is always wasted. It serves no purpose, no potential upgrade, not even fit for a mog.

You can, the roll is just hidden from you

No its not.

that is nonsense.

there is no ‘hidden roll’.

if i get the item in shadowlands which has Personal Loot, i get the item, end of story, no more details allowed.

i have the item.

Yes it is.
Don’t conflate having better gear already to calling it useless. Only GL currently adds a problem.

If there is no hidden roll, how it is decided who gets loot and who doesn’t?

Why not? It is useless, it will lower my dps if I use it. Why would I prefer this over a hunter weapon that I can’t use. I can’t use it either way. If you raid over a season you will notice that a very large portion of the loot just gets vendored immediately, and there is nothing wrong with it.
