The synopsis is absolutely hilarious in how stupid it is, especially in how it ends with “I can’t believe we were the true World of Warcraft®: Battle for Azeroth™ the whole time,” but it hits several bullet points we’ve gotten over the last several years:
-Members of the story team(I think Afrasiabi, but I’d have to dig) have said that the cast is too big for them to manage and they want to cull the herd.
-The senior members of the story team are big fans of Game of Thrones and want the game story to emulate it, as per public statements, with Steve Danuser(second only to Afrasiabi, correct?) having praised season 8 and the random burning of a million civilians in particular.
-The writers are absolute hacks and are fully on the “subverting expectations” train. Killing absolutely everyone and having a DRAENOR IS FREE repeat is in line with both of those.

You know, its a good thing Gul’dan incinerated Varian Wrynn, or else his corpse would be buried in Stormwind and thus Slyvanas may have that opportunity to rez him as an undead zombie slave.

Also it confirms how Sylvanas was actually trying to help us this whole time. It really lets her off the hook for all those monstrosities. As is Blizzard fashion.

If I had to take a whack at the insanity thats been presented in the potentially fake info and the fleet of ships raiding the harbour, I’d say that Sylvanas teaming up with some Old God buddies wrestles away a good portion of the Litch Kings (Bolvar) tithe of souls which she uses to steamroll Stormwind in a blitzkrieg manner as for some unforeseen or foolish reason the Alliance throws the majority of their military weight behind whatever crazy crap is happening at TB so that SW is left undefended or under skeleton crew.
Realising that Slyvanas has screwed everyone over we blitz her and allies during which we reach a point where Slyvanas is weakened to death but she pulls a trump card like say: She was holding the key to Voljins spirit strings this whole time and uses it as a hope dangler to get back in favour with the Horde. Then Bolvar steps in and Lorthamar puts himself in his way realising that sacrificing himself for Voljinn is for the betterment of the Horde.
Then we’re left at a cross roads as we’re left scratching our heads and with any luck SW is nothing but a pile of rubble and ashes but I wouldn’t bet on it being so.

I believed it up to the point in which they’re forcing Horde players to save Stormwind.
I mean, even as a rebel, I think that’s stupid. I want to depose Sylvanas, not save the Alliance capital.
And then don’t get me started with that contrived nonsense about everyone dying, and Sylvanas telling us we’re strong enough. Like she intended for this to happen, playing her 3 Trillion-D chess game. She doesn’t just get everyone to kill each-other and is suddenly vindicated for her deranged warmongering, that’s not how war works!
Everything about this leak disgusts me.
Well, aside from the potential return of Hakkar, that actually sounds kinda neat.

BFA’s plot is pretty shaky, but it’s still not this dumpster fire.

I stopped reading when it said major spoilers below. If what I did read is true and Sylvanas tricks us into going to the wrong place again then she deserves to win. If Anduin, Shaw and whoever else is making the battle plans haven’t learned anything yet they need top go just for being stupid. Defending Thunderbluff, ridiculous. This better not be true. Don’t tag me in any potential spoilers please.

You know, if you removed the bit about Bolvar showing up for Reasons I could almost buy this one.
It’s not quite “Jaina goes from Raid Boss to Greatest Alliance Ally the Horde has next to Anduin himself in the span of a single patch” but it’s close.

i mean… how? having the horde and alliance to team up vs sylvanas but they somewhere around the middle horde leaders (traitors to sylvanas) rejoin her in the battle? sounds hum… weird.
maybe a “betrayal” that comes from alliance forces this time?
and apparently sylvanas would be planning that as well. i don’t know.

That leak is an absolute mess, but it’s sloppy enough to fit neatly in the garbage that blizzard has been passing as lore recently.

Like I said, almost buy it.
The faction loyalty hop is really jarring, but it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve looked at something in this expansion and wondered what the heck was even happening anymore.
