This blue post states that “Serpentshrine Caverns and Tempest Keep bosses now drop new and additional items, such as an additional tier token.” What new items will be added to bosses?
Could just mean badges, marks of illidari, stuff like that. Not necessarily gear.

They’re gonna drop Gnome Cookies TM. All of the oodley goodness you Gnomes can get, only at your local convenient bosses in SSC and TK. Be sure to get them before they run out!
They are also dropping extra tokens.

They’re adding bindings to the new bosses, all classes can now get Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker

Pretty sure that’s what wound up happening on retail, so sounds about right.
