New Instance Limit in WoW Classic

You mean Blizzard?

That we are on a forum, that is our context, none of use really knows how many were affected. Blizzard has the data to make that determination. Personally I don’t really care, but this is a fun thread to comment in and provide a bit of entertainment, and I honestly feel that this is overall either a neutral or a good change given the differences between Classic and the original Vanilla experience.

It’s been explained how this change does t slow down bots to any meaningful degree.

It’s been shown how this change can and does effect the more hardcore pve players, and it is far from a minority when you consider the effect it has on auction house and farming patterns which drastically reduce the supply of items and in turn increases the cost, thus effecting a much larger portion of the player base.

Before I was able to farm a good portion of my raids healers Mana potions by farming dungeons. Now however I can farm enough for me, and to share just a little bit with the healers. Not to mention I have been helping my guilds melee get their NR gear and that is severally hindered now as well at time. On top of it all their is no tracker to help me know how many I have left, when it resets exc.

This change was poorly designed, poorly thought out, and poorly implemented.

This change limited player choice in how they play, a comparable change for the PvP focused players would be if you were limited to 30 BGs a day, and no you can’t not PvP because you can “go out I to the world” to keep pvping as you reach the cap.

The same excuse as to why the 30 instance limit isn’t “bad” by people on here.

You are locked out? Go into the world!

And you wonder why we get upset when told that lol…

They have been known to double down on worse changes than this.

Would you be happier if blizzard hard broke all the various things people have been doing dungeons and you couldn’t farm them at all by spamming resets?

How about they try not breaking anything for once and see how that goes?

They did, people were abusing dungeon reset spam.

You call it abusing, I call it playing the game.

No.

People with limited knowledge and zero experience in fighting bots have explained how they think this doesn’t slow down bots to any meaningful degree. Blizzard has been doing this for 15 years, they’re the ones with the data, they know if it’s working or not.

I’m not sure this change was primarily aimed at bots, although I think it does inconvenince them a bit. Personally I think it was primarily aimed at people excessively spamming dungeons (much more than I remember in Vanilla, of course I didn’t know anyone that did this for any lenght of time in Vanilla). Remember even if this happened it likely happened late in Vanilla and the attitude then could simply have been. “We won’t waste any money on fixing this since the next expansion is only a few months away”. Of course I’m just guessing, but from reading the Blue post I believe it wasn’t just aimed at BoTs.

Sorry, I just don’t have that level of faith in them.

I could explain specifically why I don’t if you’d like to understand, but no just because blizzard has been doing this for 15 years or whatever, doesn’t mean we should blindly trust that they’re correct.

When we’ve taken all the logical steps to understand the effects on botters, I think it’s fair to say that our assumptions hold weight. Blizzards word isn’t good for anything to me when it has nothing to back it up.

Retail has had that effect on many people over the years, including myself.

“Most commented” means ziltch, seeing as it is
a) made up largely of alts
b) a portion of the comments are from those who have >100 posts
c) of course those who have had their instance reset abuse curtailed are going to complain.
d) The VAST majority of players never use the forum.

right, so the people most affected by this change shouldn’t have an opinion on it. Makes sense.

Please cite where I made such a claim.

I’ve never understood why people need to have “faith” in a gaming company? All gaming companies are in business to make money. I do believe that they try to do this by making the best games they can that appeal to the widest audiance. Especially for MMORPGs.

Either the game is entertaining and you purchase and play it, or you don’t. Oh I get that not all, maybe not any, changes are universally loved, but you either have fun or you don’t. Trying to effect change in a game you love is great and they have suggestion forums for that. Venting when you are upset with a change is also fine. Heck, that is probably one of the primary purposes of the GD forums.

Oh I’m not saying they aren’t trying their best, I’m saying I don’t have faith in them to be competent 100% of the time.

If you find a company that is right 100% of the time please let me know, I want to buy some of that stock  I just believe that they are doing what they think is best for the long term health of the game. I may not always agree with changes, but I do believe, as you do, that they are trying their best and really that is all we can ask.

Would you be saying the same thing if they released the token?
