I think the problem here isn’t the abuse of the instance reset mechanic, it’s that that mechanic has been around for 10 months. If Blizzard felt that was incorrect why are they rolling this out now. Classic came out last August.
This post really does seem like they were targeting bots - and unfortunately, they haven’t really outlined clearly what they see as ‘exploitative’ gameplay.
Our choice of what to do with our playtime is being dictated by non vanilla gameplay changes. Its relevant because if Blizzard capped quests at 30 in their ongoing effort to eliminate exploitative or automated gameplay you’d obviously be in support of that, correct?
How much gold does actual knowledge and ability of a class cost? What difference does it make where the money is coming from, when it is buying a L60 that you’ve never actually played properly prior to “filling that spot” in a raid?
Its relevant because questing for 8 hours is a choice of how to use your time, same as instance grinding for 6+ hours a day. Our choice of how we spend our time in game is being dictated by an unprecendented, useless and ineffective non vanilla gameplay change.
Its really not that hard to comprehend. You’re just another player thats blindly supporting a bad change that accomplishes nothing.
You can do dungeons normally and plenty of others do normal dungeons.
Don’t blame others for not wanting to join your group or that they choose to play the game a different way.
PROBLEM: FLYING MAGE BOTS ARE CHAIN FARMING STRAT AND ZG SOLUTION: FLYING MAGE BOTS ARE OKAY IF THEY ONLY DO IT 30 TIMES A DAY
ISSUE: SOLUTION NEGATIVELY IMPACTS EVERYONE THAT ISN’T A FLYING MAGE BOT AND CAUSES FLYING MAGE BOT ACCOUNTS TO PROLIFERATE IN ORDER TO BYPASS INSTANCE LOCKS, WHICH ACTIVISION IS ATTEMPTING TO PROFIT FROM AT THE EXPENSE OF EVERY LEGITIMATE PLAYER
I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic here, but assuming you’re not - this isn’t really moderating the game but rather placing restrictions on legitimate players who pay a subscription because of the actions of a small handful of abusers. Moderating the game would be stating clearly what they think is exploitative game play, and handing out punishments based on that - see the 74000 accounts that were just banned.
I agree with what you are saying but there is no need for caps. Caps will only end up getting you a forum ban and yes I can understand that you (and myself too) are not happy and really don’t care about blizzard at this point. I have un-subbed and Will not play until they revert it. I also refuse to play retail.
You may now enter a maximum of 30 unique instances (dungeon and raid) per day, per realm. Geez it’s for a day… if you plan to do more than that… be lucrative to Blizzard and buy a second account! Otherwise this limit is more than sufficient except if you want to farm exploit a donjon for a certain drop and even that, you can do it significantly before reaching the “DAILY LOCKDOWN”
It’s across all characters per account per server per 24 hours. It counts your alts in the 30-instances within 24 hours as well. Potentially locking your mains out of raids.
Unlucky for me but my subscription was actually renewed a day before this limit was placed on us. I come back here in hope of seeing blue admit they stuffed up and to let other know my reasons for un-subbing.
Do you work for Blizzard? You seem to have a master understanding of their thought process and policies with the way you speak of their intentions with such certainty.
I wish I had as much faith in anything as much as you do in Blizzard.
