Nobody is disputing the 5 per hour rule thats been in place since Vanilla. The argument is that this change fixes nothing. Its one of the few gameplay oriented changes that Blizzard has made to Classic. It will be reverted because it does nothing to aid in its stated purpose.
Really dude… Check all the great players in Classic and guarenteed they are as close to BiS as luck has allowed them to be. Great players min/max… Bad players support changes that do not fix anything and brings them closer to great players arbitrarily with less effort being put in.
And at the end of the day it is up to blizzard to decide if the game is being played as intended. And if a fix to a major economy issue effects fringe borderline exploitative gameplay, they are likely to see that as a good thing. I believe that to be their POV and I quite agree with it.
This change not only is a step toward lessening the torrent of gold unabated into the game economies, but also cuts down on some of the lowest effort borderline exploitative garbage that fringe players have been practicing. The game is better for it.
Thats not the stated purpose of the change though, so its an unintended consequence. Its certainly not fulfilling its stated purpose from Blizzard though. Congrats on supporting a failed change, Im sure the University of Phoenix alumni are proud.
Well without a clear definition of what said exploitative behavior is we don’t know whether it actually was aprtly targeted at some of the people whining now do we?
Late to the party here… people who legit farmed gold/prebis/boosted at a higher than casual level, i.e. not bots, are the only ones that get punished from this.
Botters will just… get more bots. the average player doesnt really see a difference. This is a stupid change that doesn’t solve any issue, just punishes the hardcore legitimate players. Now the only way to keep up with the absurd amount of gold inflation, is to RMT. Since the botters have been setting the standard this entire time, and they will continue to set the standard as they get more bots, while the ability for legitimate players to farm gold has been hindered.
Using hyperbolic words within your statements doesn’t make your statement valid. By no means, are the players “on the fringe” the only ones using dungeons to obtain their pre-BIS/BIS. This is the most illogical argument I’ve seen in this entire thread.
Dungeons aren’t the only way to make gold, what about the Black Lotus bots? Are they not wrecking the economy? Why hasn’t action been taken out on them?
The only people this change affects are the real, legitimate, everyday players of classic world of warcraft.
If you don’t think so, then you’re probably a raid logger, probably have an inactive guild, or just don’t play everyday.
I respect your opinion on agreeing with the change, but I, for one, completely and utterly disagree with it as it affects my entire guild, and as a guild master, I need to be looking out for my group of fantastic people and how this change will affect their gameplay.
Exploits would be wallhacking, fly hacking, pathing abuse. Those are clearly exploits.
Resetting instances 5 times an hour as permitted from the game for 16 years is not an exploit.
Player to player gold transaction for a leveling service is not an exploit.
Youre supporting a change that is useless, ineffective and affects legitimate players far more than it affects bots. You’re likely just in support of it cause you’re incapable of boosting yourself. Thats called a fairweather fan, or bandwagoner. Kudos broseph.
You’re alright if someone in your guild says “I don’t have my pre-BIS/BIS because I’m at my instance lockout cap”, or “I can’t raid tonight, I hit my instance lockout cap trying to farm for my pre-BIS”
Well I do think they should add visibility to your lockout count so people can properly manage their own lock outs without surprises. At which point if someone misses a raid because they’re lockout that’s entirely their own fault.
Other than that I don’t care either way, I wasn’t abusing dungeon spam so it doesn’t impact me either way.
but we can’t
we expressed how we wanted to do dungeons normally and said we couldn’t because everyone only wants boosts.
My buddy needed Ulda quest run but couldn’t find anyone so I took him with another 60 buddy from our guild.
I would love to play the way I want but that’s just not happening.
Everyone who is supporting this ISN’T even bringing up bots. They’re complaining about people doing boost runs, farming for pre-raid BIS, and other stuff.
It’s like they’ve been looking for an excuse for poor raid logs and parses and Blizzard gave it to them.
I guess “git gud” didn’t stick so they needed Blizzard to give them a “valid” excuse for being a bad.
And for those of us that continue to play after raid? What am I supposed to do then if I’m at my instance lockout once I raid?
Stand around in orgrimmar and complain about not being able to run dungeons?
This change a terrible excuse for a “fix” to bot accounts when there are much more (easier and faster and more efficient) ways to finding and executing/banning/suspending bot accounts.
