Leave it to Blizzard to create a solution to combat bots that increases the number of bots. What a joke.
Well, blizzard can look at new characters made per realm and review then to find bot accounts…
Just make 1-2 mobs in the leveling zones “bugged” to be immortal and bots will fight it indefinitely, easy way to catch them lol.
This is a hilarious solution. Please endorse this.
BACK IN THE DAY DEVS KNEW A GOOD JOKE CAUSE THEY KNEW HOW NORMAL PPL PLAYED THE GAME! Now these troglodyte fools think it’s a good idea!! rofl "World of Warcraft Client Patch 1.11.0 (2006-04-01)
New Dungeon Visitation Limitation System
With the many improvements to end-game dungeons implemented last patch, we decided that it was necessary to limit the number of times a player can enter a dungeon per day. This was done to prevent the economy from being flooded with overly valuable items, and to ensure that players weren’t acquiring too much gold during what we’d consider a reasonable amount of play-time. We realize that many players enjoy repeated trips to their favorite dungeons, so we’ve made this new limitation as least restrictive as possible. Each character on a player’s account may enter the same dungeon up to three times per day, and may visit a total of five dungeons over the course of a twenty-four hour period. Keep in mind, each character on your account is flagged separately so with eight characters, that’s a total of 40 dungeon-runs per day!"
If you are going to take anything from the Far superior Dev’s of the day joke book, may I suggest something like “ New Level 1 only Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin bracket available!” people might actually find something like this fun. Although I think you should stop changing the game at all because you guys absolutely fail at creating new content these days compared to what blizzard was before Activision. All we ask is that you people get off your butts and Ban the bots, not give them a reason to bot more and create more accounts and hurt literally everyone BUT the intended target group.
Like a week ago a Chinese company bans 100,000 wow bots in one go. Now you implement a half baked idea that screws over everyone, druids farming MCPs, DM farmers, people getting boosted, people doing the boosting, people wanting to go hard 1 day a week and put in 16 hours of farming and then go back to work for 5 days in a row. And in the end it only makes boters clone more accounts to compensate. What a joke. Do any of you at that company even play wow aside from testers? You people are so deaf to and out of touch with this community it’s insane. Maybe if you hadn’t fired 800+ community workers IE GMs just so your higher ups could have a bigger pay check things wouldn’t have gotten to this point!
They could, yes. They could also look at players doing dungeons 24/7, sitting AFK in BGs for months while our server reports them constantly and still hitting r14 without a ban, they could look at the trains of bots going in uniform lines through every zone.
They haven’t, they aren’t, and they won’t though. And that’s always been the problem- they aren’t actually taking adequate action against bots.
So while they -could- use this to catch bots, there’s no indication they will, which ultimately makes this change something that does literally nothing to bots while screwing over regular players.
Which has a ripple effect- legitimate farming/gold gains are going to go down, what fills that void? Bots.
Logically, this actually increases the value of botting and should increase it.
Make the bugged NPC also deal 1 damage a hit but leave a debuff on the target it hits called “does not compute” the next time they get hit they get healed for 1 damage.
This means the bot will never die either to the immortal mobs, anyone that has the “does not compute” debuff applied to them 10 times or more automatically gets reviewed for botting.
I feel for you my dude. This is also going to change social interaction and grouping in the game as well. You farming SGC? Used to be you could just call out in guild for a couple buddies to come help you with 5 quick lockouts for the hour. Now other people you play with will need to be thinking twice about if they can “afford” to allocate their lockouts to helping out.
I personally was present for 9 SGC drops in my guild (including my warrior’s) as we grinded out the pre-bis, not to mention an entire guilds worth of Jed trinkets and Rend runs for sword attempts (burning up all those searching lockouts too).
This is not some “abuse of system” behaviour, its wow classic grinding.
People will not be doing this anymore for alts.
Dear Activision classic wow team, I hate you and I hate this change. I wish you would at least kiss me before screwing me like this.
Blizz just needs to introduce tokens to Classic. This will help solve the bot problem and help people get their epic mounts. The only people opposed to this idea are RMT boosters.
this will sadly not. it will just inflate the market even more.
What to do…private server tbc or heavily modded Skyrim before Cyberpunk 2077…tough decision
Tokens ruin the economy, don’t belong in Vanilla, and make Blizz more money.
I don’t doubt that’s their endgame, to screw players over bad enough they’ll accept tokens since that’s more profitable for them- but the only people that want tokens are Blizz suck ups and Kotick.
I don’t boost, nor do I actively instance farm for gold.
I’ve spent most of my 5/hr reset caps being hit from helping guildies.
I can’t really do that any more AND farm my NR gear for AQ because at 30 lock outs a day I reach it fast with either method.
Gold tockens won’t fix the bot issue, it just sets a value cap to what the botters can sell the gold for to a $20=Xgold. And even if gold sellers perfectly match that gold per dollar, they will still have buyers, because they can do gold for $1, while gold tokens are always $20.
So gold sellers would sell gold at a rate of $1=X÷20g and blizzard is locked in at $20 as the cheapest way to buy the gold.
On top of that you have to wait for a player with gold to buy your wow token to get the gold, buying gold can have a faster turn around.
Wow tokens are not a perfect fix as some try to make it out to be, because they want wow tokens.
Wow is a closed system. The supply will mostly always stay the same but if they were to introduce token more player would be able to buy this supply. the demand will rise so the product become more scarce meaning in a increase in price.
If they go with token they would need to make a lot, lots of change over the supply chain, herbs, node, etc. With what increasing the respawn rate or increasing drop rate? this will kill the base of the game (it a grinding game if everything become ez to get we are just on the same road to BFA)
I will likely be playing a lot more Skyrim soon lol.
Yea because it completely ruined retails economy. Omegalul
So since every other forum post cannot tell me something, Ill ask you guys. Anyone who actually plays classic and has a level 60 avatar answer this. How does this fix pathing?
It made people farm more.
When wow tokens came out I farmed 4 times as much for a month to buy wow tokens. And it made me stop giving things away to guildies to help them out, I was much more focused on gold, to save real world $$$.
As far as I know, only mages can really farm the ZF graveyard…
What’s wrong with this?
Players paying for boosts level up significantly faster than those who don’t
I agree that this is very annoying and strongly dislike the negative impact this has on leveling, but groups are still around for every dungeon at basically every level bracket, at least on my server, maybe with the exception of full Mara runs.
Players being boosted past content makes it harder for those who aren’t paying for boosts to find groups to run the same content, as it was intended
See above.
- Not every class can farm Dire Maul in the way that it’s been farmed. This can negatively impact the economy
Sorry, but this just isn’t true. I’ve healed jump runs for warriors, rogues, and even switched it up where I damaged and a priest healed me.
Right, if someone doesn’t agree with you THERE RMT BOOSTERS!
