New Idle Animation

Greetings and salutation

Today I would like to raise a suggestion which I believe a lot of people would like it

Over the years of wow, we have the same idle animation for every race (some getting an update). I have imagined how amazing our experience to have different idle animation per classes/weapon choice.

For example I main arms warrior, I always depict my character as heroic and honorable orc like the stories of old are told. I always imagine my character would carry his 2H axe over his shoulder (like Grom on WoD cover) when ready for battle, but that is not the case. As we know all our character looked daydreaming even in the face of big baddies like KJ for example.

I’m not pointing out other mmos, but latest and newest mmos have better idle animation than WoW.

What I would like to suggest is different idle animation for different class/race when they unseathe their weapons. For example, a Prot Pally would rest his/her shield on the ground while keeping their hands on it (hard to explain it but I think you guys know what I meant), a Rogue would layback and juggling his daggers/sword, Hunter would ready their bow and arrow, Mage would put forward his staves (I dunno why have staves at all when you just gonna cast the spells yourself), Warrior would carry their weapon upon their shoulder, etc etc.

Its a small changes which I would like the Dev to consider. It would bring a lot of different perspective to the gameplay. WoW is an mmo RPG after all. If you do consider it, please make it as variable as possible or make a few different stances per races/classes or even weapon choice.

Thank you for spending your time to read this.

Animation is a big part of whether I like a character or not. I’ve really wanted to make a Forsaken, but I don’t like the female idle at all.

It’s a big task, of course, since that’s a new system they have to implement, and then a few-dozen new animations to create. Hard to say whether it could ever be a priority over other things.

Yes yes, its something I want the devs to take notice in these small little details.

It very small changes but it can make difference.

Take orc for example, when they gtt the upstraight animation, I was overjoyed with it.
It was a new persepective for me.

Its doesn’t impact gameplay per say, but I believe people would like to have an update to the animation. The dev doesn’t need to implement it right away, they can take their time as long as they needs

I wanted to raise the interest of the player to such matter

I would love this, personally.

Coming from XIV where we had multiple idle animations that we could cycle through and what not really spoiled me. I like this game a lot more for the gameplay and stuff, but I do really miss that part of XIV & I imagine many players would enjoy it for RP and just generally looking ‘cooler’.

I dig the suggestions.

Also, Zyvexia with the meta play: letting a post about Idle animations sit idle for two years and then revive it. Masterpiece

You know what else we need.

Dance Studios. come on Blizzard it was on the box give it to us already.

The least they could do is let us carry a weapon over one shoulder like the Brewmaster artifact. That’s just amazing.

I’d like to see some new animations in general. So many of the female night elf animations are… odd. The mount animation looks like they’re just sitting with their fists in the air on the majority of the mounts. Their direct casting animation looks like they’re getting ready to throw a foot ball, not to mention the clipping that comes with them turning fully to the side and having their one leg slightly up… it looks so bad with the priest class animations, just clunky beyond belief, and cape physics behave horridly on them when they’re casting direct spells too. Lately I find myself wishing my night elf had the female human or undead casting animations. Nice and simple.

But on the subject of idle/walking/running animations; I think ESO does it best with their personalities feature. It’d be super neat to have something like that brought to WoW. I’d love to see my druid just nonchalantly playing with astral/nature magic.
Also, the game could really use more emotes… trying to interact with players is no fun because all I can do is /dance or make train noises at them.
