I am kinda torn… on one hand I want every combat or stat racial removed and replaced with things like this.
On the other hand they are clearly not doing that and replacing a racial that was good with something useless.

Theres definitely a bit of that feeling isn’t there… meanwhile Dwarf racials reign supreme in combat scenarios and no one bats an eye.
Yeah, I could get behind having two hearth locations. That could potentially be useful, moreso than just a shorter cool down and second charge.
Outside of leveling, ca you help me think of a time where returning to the same point in 10 minutes is a benefit (I would rather the ability to set two opposite H-stones, but that doesn’t seem fair to shaman)?
For my take, this seems the opposite of being diplomatic.
Shall we engage other peoples in commerce and trade and community? No, I’ll think I’ll come home - quickly.
I wish diplo was changed to allow the human PC to use another races language for a day or something fun and remotely close to the theme of diplomacy. (Maybe diplomatic immunity: for 30-minutes on a 24hr cd, opposite faction guards will not murder you. After 30 minutes, you are instantly transported to the nearest graveyard outside the enemies cap city [thus if people stay beyond their welcome, the horde know where to hang out to, uh, provide a send off party]
)
Trash, go from something that makes the game just a little easier to something that doesn’t even matter, typical Blizzard balance.
In my opinion, diplomacy was probably the best racial in the game. It was usable by all gamers to access rewards quicker and or, mitigate rep-based gates. It felt thematic, too, based on the lore.
But, yeah, this just feels lame. No place like home…but, we’re setting the hearthstone up in taverns and inns, opposite of homes? Do we get more rested experience if we set our hearth to Stormwind? (Rhetorical, just…as we can see my ocd is flaring for the lack of congruity)

What is not good about them?
The “combat” racials aren’t super interesting but numbers wise the throughput one is one of the best (not that racials contribute that much to begin with though).
Edit: Yes yes I understand Stoneform and Shadowmeld get cheesey in very high end content. That’s 2 races, and doesnt affect most levels of play in a significant amount.
Oh and if you are a human mage(like one of my mains) you are just out of luck. Bah, this is so annoying!
Their active is terrible, it is functionally useless in modern content since the stuns in raids you cannot avoid generally cannot be broken with it anyway, and their singular throughput racial is mediocre at best. 2% increase in secondary stats from gear comes out to around a 2% near the end of the expansion, and other races often get a flat 1% in addition to having better actives. Nearly every other race except Vulpera also get a combat throughput and a damage reduction/stamina increase, humans do not get that either.
so we lose diplomacy which because the new way of running rep is just to OP but then u have older reps that are just horrible to even work on. blizz u need to fix stuff. a hearthstone cd? give a stat boost or somethin. this is stupid.
It has some nice uses: It’s nice when I get shanked as the tank in Halls of Infusion ![]()
I mean, fair. It was useful when I was looking at my other screen and standing in the stun in Murozond’s rise as well, but those are avoidable and there isn’t really a reason to get hit by them. At absolute best, it is a mediocre tool to cover for a mistake in like 2 dungeons.
the combat stats dont really matter unless ur the absolute 1%. theres still skill required to play the rotations to the upmost T and people still cant dps that well.
This sort of feels like Aquatic Mounts. Every few months I might find myself in a situation where it’s useful but the rest of the time I’ll just forget it’s even there.
R.I.P Diplomacy
But seriously Blizz, with the title “No Place Like Home” you’re making it sound like the SW humans would rather stay at home instead of being daring adventurers
who want to save the world.
Especially when heartstone cds are already insanely negligible lol.
Why not bring back ‘every man for themselves’ (keep the name) and give humans a flat +5% base movement speed lol. Some kind of actual beneficial passive.
I assume most will be staying at home since people have no reason to play as them now other than…idk, the aesthetics?
Seems perfect for humans honestly… their paladins always did love to bubble hearth in the past when they were about to die so why not give them multiple uses and shorter cooldown.
