New Human Customization Locked/Biased... Why?

EDIT: This feature has now made it to live servers without any explanation as to why something like this was restricted in the first place. Humans are versatile when it comes to structural make… You got it right with night elves and void elves… why restrict anything on humans at all?

Playing the PTR and decided to make a human. Why are faces locked to skin tones? I identify as a mixed race human in real life who has a lighter caramel tone but I’d like to use the face that closest matches me which is a face locked to the three skin tones that are for the “Asian” themed looks.

What gives?? Apparently If I wanted to be a Light-brown person and use the new faces that come with the THREE dark shades (As if these are the only shades of brown people) I am automatically locked to using the old faces. How is this giving freedom to customization?

I also noticed HAIR COLORS change and are limited based on the face selection and skin tone you choose. Darker skin tones can’t have a solid white hair color that is given to white/asian themed faces/looks. This is ridiculous and severely limiting. (I can’t even live the mage fantasy of a white haired arcane mage we get pepper gray or nothing lighter. Even the shade of black hair isn’t solid black like straight hair types)

Just like with other WoW races that have access to all their skin tones, faces, hair colors, scars and such. Why is that not the same or even baseline for the one race we all identify with?

More than likely it’ll get washed under the mass of new forum posts as something as serious as this is never taken serious… It’s disheartening as a player.

i dont see it as serious i just see it as funny. why limit player customaiztion at all, but i have that special feeling its politically motivated and THAT is alll i will say becuase I DONT WANT SILENCED AGAIN -glares at the blizzard ban hammer bot- :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Because it’s 2020, mixing them could get Blizzard sued with cultural appropriation.

Black and Asian preset gets added to the customization. Where is my chicano look, blizzard?

That’s…an incredibly odd design choice.

Cultural appropriation for a night elf? Elaborate for me LOL I worded that as in the other races in wow. Humans in WoW should have access to all the things that make a human a human… putting real world race restrictions on customization is absurd. If hair isn’t locked to your skin tone why is the face or skintone setting?

I agree and I hope it’s not! You got my support!

It is absurd, for you, they’re trying to normalize this thing.

It can honestly be infuriating. We’re locked or limited on everything else in this game. From Tmog to RNG to what time you can run a raid, locking the customization has to be the tip of the iceberg.

Yeah, yeah, “I don’t have to play it no one is forcing me” but to advertise so many new features just to limit? Where’s the manager I’d like to have a word…

da whole system needs a rework who approved it?

Wasting your time arguing with people who think everything conveniently fits into a check box.

That said, I agree with you and think this is stupid.

It’s the PTR bruv. Man’s gonna be testing things all the time. You gots to give man’s time to fix it before it goes live. Things like this are why Sl was delayed, yeah? Allow it, bruv, allow it.

Did you watch it with the captions for language Swedish - Chef turned on? Because those captions make the video even better.

Yeah this doesn’t seem intentional, I just think they’re having a hard time separating some of the options since this is all new.

Because humans having a million customization options and every race having a fraction of that would not be fair? Also because It’s a fantasy game, not real life.
