Darkfallen are pretty much all undead elves thanks to the new Sylvanas book.
Prior to that, they were the undead Blood Elves found in ICC and Northrend.
I call BS to this whole thing. Where’s the evidence this audio file even exists?

Now it’s literally every undead elf
Will probably stay Blood Elves as we killed off the major Night Elf ones and Darkshore is back in the hands of the Alliance.

There’s one major undead night elf that was a fan favorite while she was living during the BFA prepatch still around. BRB grabbing my BFA collector’s edition to refresh my memory on her name

They recently conflated the meaning of Dark Rangers and Darkfallen to more or less equal the same thing
We know Tirisfal is getting story in 9.2.5
“We like to do Customizations when it’s thematic, similar to Night Elves in 8.1. It’s kind of a rare and special thing, when there is the right opportunity to do something like that, that’s something that they would consider.” - they said this when asked about DR stuff
The Tirisfal stuff could be the “right opportunity” more or less to add this request
