tldr: if you’re not running a guild that invites everyone, or invites everyone who meets a certain level/ilvl requirement, this thing is not just useless, it’s detrimental.
First I’ll itemize the major flaws I see so far:
- right-click-whisper rarely works (and when it does they’re not online)
- no indication of whether an applicant is online
- roughly half the applicants aren’t even on my server
- no ability to right-click-Copy Name so I can at least mail them in game
And here’s how this is borderline detrimental. As brief as possible: if “just invite and see whether they work out” doesn’t work for your guild, you’re literally burning bridges with applicants just by using this system. There’s no way to reach out to them, so some applicants will (kinda rightly) feel ignored, or worse assume they are unwanted / rejected. That is not how we’re tryna interact.
In order to deal with this I’ve had to say even less about who we are, in order to make room for instructions to mail my main toon in game or contact me on discord. But ppl who don’t read directions will still apply using the recruitment system, which still means burned bridges.
I was looking forward to this feature but now, knowing it will be in this unfinished state for the long term (bc even major bugs get ignored in Classic Progression), idk if I’m going to be listing my guild in it for very long.
