You are intentionally misrepresenting the issue.
Overwatch does not have anon forum posting.

Iâm honestly surprised you guys are still going back and forth on this its been pretty funny to read helps with a slow Monday so thanks for that
I dont remember posting that here⌠you can do that of course but /shrug
Maybe dont sock puppet and we wont have that issue. Seriously if you want Anon posting we would have to put a limit toon swapping or total removal of toon swapping.
i said they implemented something similar just in game.
because blizzard never said or want battle tags for warcraft.
And this is where a line is starting to get crossed
Spamming or Trolling
This category includes:
- Excessively communicating the same phrase, similar phrases, or pure gibberish
- Creating threads for the sole purpose of causing unrest on the forums
- Causing disturbances in forum threads, such as picking fights, making off topic posts that ruin the thread, insulting other posters
- Making non-constructive posts
- Abusing the Reported Post feature by sending false alarms or nonsensical messages
- Numbering a thread, IBTL, TLDR, or any other fad statements
If a player is found to have participated in such actions, they will:
- Be given a temporary or permanent ban from the forums, depending upon severity
You by have no right to blame anyone for flagging a thread when you do not know who flagged the thread!
And time for you to go onto the ignore as well. If you want to start going down that road, than youâre not worth any replies.
This is ridiculous. Youâre making an unverifiable claim, because if theyâre removed, thereâs no proof they ever existed in the first place. Youâre just babbling nonsense at this point.
Which makes it irrelevant since OW has btag forum posting.
You know this.
I know this.
But you are here to troll so you are ignoring it.
Okay, after reading through the back and forth, there is one major flaw here.
Being anonymous does not protect opinions from criticisms (or ridicule, as some people view it). All that will happen is more people would voice bad takes, which will get just as much or more backlash from the community. There is no free shield to create an unassailable echo chamber. If anything, if the forums were completely anonymous, youâll be ridiculed and harassed more often for an opinion except you wonât know who the person ridiculing you is or if the 10 people criticizing your post is actually just one person. Anonymity goes both ways.
So, if safety or comfort are the main driving forces to push for anonymous posting and neither of which would be accomplished by doing so, why doesnât matter again?
The link to twitter is there to solidify the fact that people will always been watching what other people will say. As well to notify pretty painstakingly ovbiously that nothing on the internet truely goes away. If youâre willing to post on WoW Forums, youâre pretty much posting publicly for thousands of people to see, which mind you⌠Everybody who donât have an account, can view the forums. Proof pretty much.
The thing is, even if i donât tell them or link them what theyâve said, it wouldnât simply change what happens. If they are simply unaware of it or never told it, it wouldnât simply change what happens. People screencap and share things all the time.
To then the person to scream and mislabel âHARRASSMENTâ and say âFake quoteâ despite the fact we all saw the quote and itâs real and even Blizzard knows, shows that people need to be taught the hard way sometimes.
Also, Blizzard has Twitter intergretion in WOW like 5 expansions go, but i digress.
Side note. Wasnt that removed some time ago?
That;s why we need anonymous posting. You would know my characters name, just opinion. and you would be nicer because you would not know who you talking too.
So opinion would important not who said that.
You made that up.
Quotes or it didnât happen.
well is this not proof that the btag thread existed and then was removed?
Idc who it is if they are anon or not Iâm telling them how it is.
it seems as though you are advertising your social media twitter account here to get more views on it for personal gain.
Because she is also a hateful person.
You donât be nice to a criminal who is robbing somebody at gunpoint just because they sound polite.
This is a public website where everybody can see your nonsense.
I said something similar what we are asking, which is great. Hope we get something similar here in forums.
Because what they want is the ability to hide from the consequences of their actions. They want an increase in hostility and toxicity. They want trolls to have more ability to harass and stalk people. They want to make the forums less safe for people to hang out and discuss the game.
Isnât that what already exists though? All we know is a character name, server and Guild. If they made it just to know character name, it becomes infinitely easier to Simply make a character on a different server with the same name and transmog and you can pretend to be someone else which makes the situation worse.
Yep, because people are always nicer on the internet to people they donât know.
