This really depends on how attached someone is to their account and if they have multiple accounts. Depending on a persons financial status having a troll account is the same as going out to eat, cheaper depending on where you go. Banning a troll account is not going to mean anything to a person whose main account is safe.

As expensive as food has gotten, it’s way cheaper. They can just get a cheeseburger from McD for a few bucks then buy a wow sub and go to town trolling.
Heres a hot take, I would be for Anon posting IF… AND ONLY IF… it could be handled correctly AND the person / account is blockable.
However, the OP has NOT provided any information on how it could work. Just “I want this to feel safer” well why do you feel safer?

The moderation on these forums has always been lacking and inconsistent and Blizzard’s own MVP’s have outright said as much. You’re lying to yourself if you believe this to be the case.
Let’s be clear. Are the forums “moderated?” Sometimes Blizzard is quick, sometimes way too slow, and sometimes they’re afraid to touch a thread, which is obvious.

They seem to feel pretty safe, to me. They’ve stating their opinions without fear, calling people liars, downplaying abuse and replying whenever it suits them.
They don’t seem to feel too unsafe or unconfident.

It’s especially spotty early in the mornings. I’ve seen some really nasty stuff persist for hours because the forum janitors haven’t shown up for the day.

That’s exactly why we need anonymous posting. You just dislike idea and do not care about people who genuinely want this implemented for safety reasons.
Not really a fan of burger king. Plus, I’ll never forgive them for ruining tacos.

Agreed. I’ve watched them engage & bicker, but nothing of actual substance has been offered for discussion. Just troll pops to keep people responding & increasing their post count. The entire thread is worth ignoring, but folks come in here with their funny responses. So, I haven’t muted it yet - just watching troll feeding as the day goes on.
