I am not sure what they are trying to do with this, looks like maybe they are trying to copy Facebook. Which is going to be very confusing.

Being that I don’t use facebook I can agree. This format will take some getting use to and not sure what it will do to my mobile viewing experience. Without pages every time I open a topic it’s likely to start me back at the beginning. Can you imagine how long it is going to take to scroll through 300+ replies of varying lengths to get to the next post I have not ready yet?
For context I browse on a flip phone and not a touch screen that likely allows for faster scrolling option based on how fast you swipe your finger.
Not gonna lie… it’s kinda annoying. But what can you do, I guess?
I’m actually liking the new format so far. It’s a lot easier to use on mobile. And for those wondering about long scrolling threads, it will automatically save your place, so all you have to do is click the link to return to where you left off. There is also a drop-down box that lets you jump to the very first or very last post as well.

Problem is, the new forum format may have just actively killed the WET. Not only is there still a character limit, but the system will prevent you from double-posting. Meaning if you’re trying to string together a longer story by circumventing the character limit through double-posts, that will no longer be possible. Fanfiction has effectively been patched out.
I wouldn’t be too sure on that yet. The post length is much longer, with a minimum character requirement of 10. Posting restrictions are also relaxed as you post more with good behavior.
Discourse-based forums default limit posts to 16000 characters. I haven’t personally observed the character limit on the new forums, but if you’re posting something that long, pastebin it and give us the link.
Hopefully those restrictions are indeed relaxed, but something tells me double-posting is not something they ever intend to allow anyone on this forum to do.
Nice idea. “Adapt, overcome,” as they say. I’ll probably be giving that a shot if, for whatever reason, the new limits become troublesome.

Post limit is 99,000. I could post the whole Tale of Empire’s Fall in one post. 33 pages, 13,620 words, 77,263 characters.
Well wonder no more. While not a touch screen as most smart phones are today it is technically still a smart phone. At least that is what the lad from tech support told me.
Anyway it is a ZTE for TracFone Model Number: Z233VL.
As for being able to view the website. I tried for over an hour and while technically I can view it as the pages do load; because of the way it scrolls through webpages I keep getting stuck on a dropdown root menu that goes between the main parts of the forum and does not let me go far enough down to view and click on any of the topics.
Further more even on the old board I had to always start from the top of a page and scroll down. Even when the topic in question opens at a later post. With this format the top of the page could be 50+ posts from the last one I read. With a character limit reaching almost a million ( Thanks @Kersia-wyrmrest-accord for figuring that out 
) that would leave the potential scroll time… yeah don’t want to think about that.
