The new Follower Dungeons are being tested in PTR now with a full live release when Dragonflight: Seeds of Renewal goes live.
If you are playing the PTR Follower Dungeons I would like to hear your opinion and experiences, of how well the A.I. Bots help the player in the dungeon runs.
So what do you think?
It’ll be great when levelling and you need to complete a quest that requires you to complete a dungeon and you are a DPS, hopefully leading to quicker queues for DPS.
My only concern is how smart these so called AI NPC team mates will be.
Have run a couple with a mid-level priest. The NPCs are the same ones that run the dungeon with you in the starting area Exile’s Reach. The runs went well and didn’t really take too long but I didn’t feel rushed either. The tank tanks. The DPS DPS. The mage dropped a table. They wait if there is damage after a fight. They don’t pull every pack either.
My experience is the NPCs are way more polite and decent to be around than 99.9% of PUG groups. They still need a bit of polish on their finer logic, but they preform their roles properly and engage with boss mechanics.
I hope it’s extremely popular and they expand on it.
I’d love to be able to gear up my AI team and take them to even more difficult content, sure they’ll never be as good as a real team but it’ll be perfect for those days that you only have 30mins spare and you just want to log on, smash out a run and log off.
Collect more AI teammates through the world and mix/match your team.
I have been playing the Follower Dungeons in PTR and really like the npc followers. Really makes running dungeons a lot more fun, and the npc bots do a great job, as well as being friendly, which is a nice change.
I made this thread primarily because I wanted to know other players in the Wow community opinions on the topic.
Just the DF so far. I’m running them on my level 70. Tried a level 60 but couldn’t. Just my level 70. Unless there’s something I’m not aware of? It’s also not clear at least to me yet, what dungeons and levels are going to be available upon release? If anyone has more information please post it.
As mentioned already.

My A.I. NPC companions have been so far:
Captain Garrick a Protection Paladin.
Crenna Earth-Daughter a Restoration Druid.
Meredy Huntswell a Fire Mage.
Austin Huxwortha Beast Mastery Hunter with two pets: Nyx and Ash.
My experience so far has been if you use common sense the Bots do an excellent job, even better than real players. You get two commands: Follow me, in which the bots will tag along and when you attack a mob the tank runs in grabs agro and the others do there thing. And second command lead the way (or something to that effect) which then the Tank will go and get aggro pulling cautiously ( will not pull the whole room at once). And the healer and dps do there thing. The bots won’t run away from you and will match your pace. In with both commands you can still pull when you want. But don’t pull the whole room or you may wipe. Like I said use common sense.
To simplify the explanation; The bots operate in a similar way to the companion/follower bots in the single player games such as Dragon’s Age Inquisition or Dragon’s Dogma.
