New fist weaver changes miss the mark

Wait what? Did they actually remove it?

oh definitely, faeline needs a few art passes as well as a couple QoL passes.
The primary mechanic, between getting resets with general play as well as damage and healing (for what little they are currently worth) is interesting enough for me personally.

Not yet, but they are planning to right?

they’re removing it for mistweaver, it will still be there for windwalker and brewmaster though.

No a bad mechanic makes a bad mechanic, and faeline stomp forcing the bob and weave martial artist always on the move to plant itself like a tree doesn’t make sense.

Faelinestomp is clearly druid fantasy for some reason on monk.

Hopes raised and dashed oh well

This really depends on the *spec as well as the player.
I’ve never really spent much time moving frantically as mistweaver so playing by the line has only been a minor annoyance (the update for higher circle frequency makes it slightly better but still just a slight annoyance).
It also helps that I primarily raid so movement is pretty much near scripted (a lot of complaints seem to be for tanks moving adds far away before a reset comes up, which I just don’t run into in a raid setting).

I mean I understand it’s not that big of a deal in say of a raid setting, but it still doesn’t quite fit the class fantasy still either though.

I don’t know why, but you keep mentioning the fantasy of stomp and monk, noones disagreeing with it.

Just because stomp has limits doesn’t mean it doesn’t have good gameplay, which it does now with recently additions as it really makes you think and engage with it.

The only thing I could say on stomp outside the obvious is they needed to give you room to move off it because of the width of it, but they did do that, or by making it visible by your allies, which I’m sure they’ve spoken to eachother about already.

If it still feels like it needs more qol I’m sure they will continue to iterate on it.
They were never going to change stomps visuals or aesthetics this early into df, nor in beta, so you just have to ask them about it next ptr cycle etc etc, and if they haven’t, maybe they change it aesthetically via a glyph or something, that would be cool.

So did chi for healing, so did original sef, but stomp isn’t some big brain spell or anything.
It’s a druid spell given to monk, because they didn’t know how to design something for the martial arts class

I mention the fantasy of the class because as many have pointed out blizzard constantly miss the mark when designing things for monk, so it’s one of the most important factors to consider.

You want something that requires thought, agency, and having to play around a spot? Then bring back the ball pit.
That was always fun to be a dps and go run into looking for heals.

Can even just make it an aimed cd and then have it also trigger from something else to consume all of them for big healing.

As for dps, there is nothing fun about casting it down and then the tank moves for some reason beyond what’s normal.

If they wanted a second weaker sotwl to reset from attacks they can make something like hurricane blows, it puts a debuff that resets the cd when you do X arbitrary thing.

Accepting garbage design is how garbage design continues to happen.

This is exactly when it should have been, it’s clear from the massive amount of bugs awful spec design for tons of trees the game wasn’t developed long enough to polish things and instead was just pushed out for a cash grab.

The WW tree design is an absolute joke and it’s clear they didn’t bother with any real thought or testing

Wait… Correct me if I’m wrong here, but spells and abilities always have chance to reset Faeline Stomp. That’s why we take Chi Burst… because it has so many interactions in a short period of time, it has an overall high chance to reset the faeline with one button press.

Awakened Faeline does three things: lets TP hit twice (making it easier to build BoK stacks), transfers some SPK damage to healing, and increases the Faeline Stomp reset chance by 100%.

So, with the Awakened Faeline and Ancient Concordance auras lingering for 8s after leaving the faeline… that 100% reset chance should linger as well. Because if it didn’t, then TP wouldn’t hit twice and SPK wouldn’t heal either.

Right?

Two effects which check for the line (the reset and the SCK heal) weren’t activating with the lingering effect, likely because they are still checking for the line.
It’s probably a bug but it was an issue last week.

Ah, got it. Odd and will be on the lookout for it. Thanks

im getting sick of healers needing to do damage to heal. I hop off my dps to heal, of course when everyone is healthy i will dps, just stop forcing healers to dps.

bring back ranged mist

Ranged mist is a thing still. It’s mana hungry, but just as viable.

Honestly, if more people played Ranged Mists, we’d see more than 20k MWs in 10-14. But everyone sees people talk about Healers needing to DPS and be melee-only to heal (which most players cannot do, as the damage output in a PUg group is significantly higher than an organized group where you can sustain much longer via DPS) , so they try that, fail and switch to Druid (at 120k druids in the 10-14 range)…

Listen, people. When people say healers need to DPS to succeed, they aren’t talking about your +12 key.

It would be cool if they at least made a gift to make the faeline more monk-themed, maybe a different aesthetic to the line, glow green, have mist on it.

Maybe if we bug report it will be fixed. The lingering effect does not allow us to reset faeline stomp.

Currently?

Yes I tested this bug last night.

So they broke it further, nice
