Fireball, Scorch, Scorch, Scorch, proc Pyroblast is my rotation.
Personally I open with Fire Blast to (hopefully) proc a Pyro and launch that right off the bat.
Okay, I add that to my rotation.
Way too much Scorch. The only times you use Scorch are:
- When moving (and even then it’s better to use Shimmer or Ice Floes so you can keep casting Fireball).
- During Combustion if you’re out of instant casts and you aren’t double lusted (stick with Fireball if you are).
- When the target is under 30% health and you have Searing Touch talented (which you should).
Leaving Combustion aside for now, the core rotation is to keep using Fireball until you get a Heating Up. Due to travel time you’ll be in the middle of another Fireball cast when HU procs. Cast Fire Blast (to proc Hot Streak) before that Fireball finishes and then immediately send the instant Pyro along with the Fireball.
Check out Icy Veins for a basic overview.
Okay, I copied you talents.
Ironically Pyroblast hits like a wet noodle compared to an ordinary frostbolt crit, or shatter-effect icelance.
I enjoy the aesthetic of fire mage, but man the spec should be doing a lot higher damage than Frost.
- I oft find people question why, which is odd - The reason fire should do more, is that Fire is a more complex rotation than Frost and is also far more punishing if it’s messed up.
As for Arcane, well … Majority of the Mage-forums already know that needs a rework.
Personally I’d love a spec that utilised classic mage vibes, where we’re tapping into all 3 specs. To me that feels more like a ‘Mage’ than merely being bound to simply 1 element or cosmic pool.
— As it stands, Evoker & Warlock feel like they tap into more varieties of magic across the board than Mage do.
