Didn’t know this.
As for borrowed powers I think they’re here to stay, originally it was expand talent trees and give you new spells, but they decided they cant do that forever, which is why they’ve changed to borrowed powers, dont see them moving off of that.
That’s every expansion trailer ever except mop though lol.
i really doubt there will be. with as much hate as people have had for them in the last 3 expansions it would be pretty tone deaf. blizz hasnt read the room well in several years so i wouldnt put it past them but i think with 6 years of failed borrow power outings they might of learned their lesson but you never know
Bring back snapshotting and vary builder spender damage again to bring complexity back.
Bring templates with %Stat orientated templates.
% Based titles.
Reputations by account, not by character.
Get rid of experience on heirlooms in lieu of the system FF has where subsequent characters in the same account get an exp boost for having a character at max level.
No longer buy gear from PVP Vendors, but buy a token for that slot (minus trinkets, trinkets stay purchasable). Token gets traded to an NPC along with up to two missives to guarantee stat outcome.
World PVP/Random Battleground ranking system (kinda like classic) where Honor gear can be upgraded to approximately Rival 1 item level at max rank. This affords everyone the chance to casually do PVP and be somewhat geared before jumping into rated.
World Quest each week to kill one random faction leader. Reward: Random PVP gear with item level based on rating. (No weapon drops)
World Quest each week to kill X amount of opposite faction while defending your own faction leaders. 5000 honor, 500 conquest (in addition to weekly cap, not counting toward it). Repeatable for 500-1000 honor.
World PVP objectives in general. Enough said.
Versatility to reduce critical hit rate and critical hit damage by 1/2 of the amount it reduces damage. (If you have 40% Vers, you take 20% less damage and are 10% less likely to be crit and taken 10% less damage from crits). Basically I want the defensive component of Versatility to work how resilience used to work.
Let gear be gear. Reducing item level of PVP gear outside of PVP is dumb. I know people claim there are PVE issues with PVP having gear accessible so soon, but I personally don’t see the problem with (most) PVP and PVE gear being used cross-content and I feel like full participation adds more to the game and increases the amount of players participating in each activity. It’s overall just better for the health of the game. Yeah some trinkets have been busted in the past, but that’s a small price to pay for increased participation.
I want Strand of the Ancients back, as well as other new Battlegrounds with new concepts.
I really, really, really want casual PVP to actually be meaningful again for everyone.
remove the weekly vault
The weekly vault isn’t terrible, just remove weapons from the weekly vault and you solve like 90% of the issue.
Dear God no.
templates werent nearly as bad as people made them out to be
If we could customize them ala PvP only gems, or reforging, templates would be ideal.
My biggest gripe with PVP template is the fact that there is an absolutely minimal difference in player power as you advance, grow, and gear up. Many people like their character feeling noticeably stronger as they accomplish more in the game.
Additionally, the templates run the risk of making your character function very differently in World PVP, or any other Casual PVP than it does in any form of Rated PVP.
or just give you 2k or 2500 secondary stats to set up how you want in a pvp ui menu like lost ark does. give a few presets so you can flip flop on the fly to suit your needs.
That would create a fair amount of degeneracy in PVP. There’s no real “option” for people in that case, it ultimately boils down to what stat scales best with each class. Assuming you can’t throw those points into Versatility, you would never find a Ret Paladin, for example, that throws all those points in anything but Mastery.
? what are you talking about that is already how the game is
What part are you confused on?
i think you are the one confused
No, I am trying to legitimately find where you misunderstand my point.
Yes, r8ght now everyone selects gear based entirely on what stats scale best for their character. However, at least right now, it takes some time, work, and maybe some luck to attain the best possible stats for a character. Characters already get pretty ludicrous at max gear.
What you are recommending results in instantaneous best-stats for every character that plays with the added caveat that they can get more of their best stat using the 2000-2500 freely placeable points under the template than they could ever get in the traditional gearing system. Your idea actually creates an even more shadowlandy amount of damage occurring more frequently than it should.
Or to sum it up easier: would you rather fight a Ret Paladin whose best in slot gear gives them 80% mastery during burst, or one whose “template with custom points” puts them around 200% mastery?
you do realize there are softcaps right ? and whatever would we do without a moving balance target !
Yeah those soft caps have definitely stopped people from stacking Versatility I guess. That’s why people are all raiding for PVP gear now
My issue with this whole stance is why do you care about player power. Every good PvP game, even modern MMO’s, virtually equalize player power from the jump and give players agency to immediately start to progress their rating, skill, and work towards the rewards.
Parity is far more valuable in PvP than player power and gear progression. I genuinely can’t understand why people enjoy it, and I’m not trying to be mean or snide when I say that. I am interested to hear more from you on this (genuinely)
