Microsoft is the worst thing to use. I want to say I typed out my entire expansion ideas and tried to copy and paste it here. They literally would not let me copy it and I tried to cut&copy as a last resort and it deleted everything without it ever copying to my computer. I now need to retype it all out… Took 4 hours…

Oh, wow, that sucks. I wonder if the file size would have been too big? I don’t know.

Let me hear your opinions. If you took the time to read this I would like thank you.

The expansion we need and their selling points:

*No new levels!
But you get new customisation options to build lore classes, even if it is just the illusion of one. An example of such an illusion female night elf priests could take on the illusion of being “Priestess of Elune”. It would change nothing mechanically, causing no balancing problem, but you could transmog a weapon to look like a bow, cast when holding the bow and direct attack spells would look like arrows shot from the bow.

*No new areas!
But existing areas get an overhaul. The Cataclysm is history. Changes in the landscape is still there but the problems it caused are solved, mostly. A lot of the problems can be solved by building bridges. With Horde/Alliance relations warming up a lot of military installations could be dismantled or handed over to neutral parties. You could approach an Alliance fort in the Barrens only to see that there is now otherwise homeless Taureen civilians living there.

*No new mounts!
But the existing ones get a graphical overhaul. In practice thou, to satisfy nostalgic collectors, the old versions should still be available. So, you purchase one mount but get two. One with the old graphics and one with the new graphics.

*No new outfits!
But again, the old ones get a graphical overhaul. They do not really change appearance, but they will look less blurry. No mystically covered up areas due to some odd sensitivities in some people.

*Invisible pants!
But this transmog only work when wearing robes.

New mounts would be added in and new gear would be as well. this would be a re-expansion approach. I’m not sure about the other parts of your comment.

Pretty terrible overall from my point of view.

That’s a nope from me.

Everything else just looks like a complexe garrison/mobile game system. Which sure bring mission tables back, but you do not need to make it as complicated.

The goal behind that is to make you complete each zone the one time only. With the completion of it you will be able to manage it out and farm loot for your alts and for your bank. Because the vendor value would be 1/3 of the sell price on all of these goods received. Thus earning the ability to use your phone to manage this conquered content out.

There’s a lot of account wide stuff already planned with warbands. The rest of this looks like a complete redesign of the game which is not really how expansions work (nor ought to).

We need to keep the core of the good stuff and experiment with them in meaningful ways that don’t deviate so strongly in a single iteration. We don’t need tons of change for change sake.

You’d probably benefit from identifying the design problems you’re looking to solve before proposing a change.

Didn’t read your novel. But read the first part before scrolling.

I like the concept of leveling so right at that part you lost me. The problem isn’t the mechanic of leveling it’s is it interesting and fun.

I also think the game should stop adding levels all the time.

I like the complete a zone part .

I think that’s all I read up to.

The problems is that all old content never gets used beyond the looks. This way would be making any contents gear weapons etc… becoming useful no matter which expansion we are on. This would be like uniting the entire world under your own flags, under your own real control. It also allows them to give the rest of the game that realistic update. So if one has a preference of their which content they like they would be able to use the gear earned from it to do anything around the entire world not just the looks. It would also allow blizzard to make more real money from players looking to catch back up after that content has been played out. All of those raid items would become BOE but only have one chance a week to drop per account. This BOE gear would be worth a lot of gold depending on the % drop rate that is set. One could even farm these old raids as if they were new raids after conquering that content in attempts to farm gold with their army. Managed out from even your phone. Giving them more support for those who often times are working. Those people don’t have the time to play this game through out more than the once.

Big nope from me, some of us actually love levelling so i read that and stopped cause i dont want that taken away (you forgot all us altoholics)

If you read through it this would allow you to have more power on your alts. Leveling would still exist but only needed once. As a last resort for those who have completed all quests there would still be enough class specific quests to level.

That sounds terrible to me.

This also sounds terrible to me.

So not removing leveling, just making a Pathfinder for it. I’m not sure I’m keen on that either.

I couldn’t get through the wall of text after that. It was too jumbled and confusing.

Next expansion.

World of Warcraft: Bear Grylls choose your adventure.

Zone 1 goes like:

You’re on an island. A storm is approaching. The power station has gone down releasing wild animals. A hungry lion has caught the scent of a Zhevra who escaped her goblin monitored enclosure.

  1. Do you save the Zhevra?
  2. Seek to turn the power back on?
  3. Corral the lion?

On the way to the lion…do you wade the muddy fen filled with spiders or sneak past elite Legion fel mobs?

The fen takes too long to stay ahead the storm, but the good news is you catch the lion frightened by the lightning.

Zone 2: You are a lone survival of a wrecked ship. Survive the night in Tanaris. You have two healing potions and an incurable DoT. A pack of gnolls have picked up your scent.

You must make your way to Gadgetzen.

Do you:

  1. Take out the gnolls. Build a camp and then go for the town?

  2. Build a fortress. Fight the gnolls. Then go to town?

  3. Hide in some ruins. Fool the gnolls with carrion scent and then sneak your way through the night to town?
