New Dungeon Kick Penalty System [Suggestion]

Hello

As everyone probably already know (and most likely suffered) the dungeon votekick system is currently not fullfilling its original purpose, which is punishing griefers and AFKs, and is mostly used as an abuse tool against others for trivial reasons.

The system is 100% automatized and never gets reviewed by humans capable of truly understanding the situation unless you open a ticket, which causes the already scarce support team to overload with pointless tickets that could get properly solved automatically, therefore I bring a proposal with a flawless solution, which is the following:

The first time you get kicked you get no penalty, the second time you get 10 minutes, and it gets doubled everytime it happens (10, 20, 40, 80, etc). This scaling penalty system would get 1 tier lower (so if you’re at 40 minutes it would go back to 20) on every daily reset.

This basically solves all the current issues, if you get kicked once or twice it doesn’t really hurt you much, as opposed to the curreny system which makes you lose 30 minutes even if it’s the first time, but if you are consistently harming your groups you’ll get increasing penalty to the point where you can’t play anymore.

If you think this is a good solution please like this post so Blizzard is aware, and I also suggest you send an in-game suggestion with this proposal.

And if you think this is not the solution then let me know your counter argument.

I can’t foresee this getting abused at all

a list of us in here have offered suggestions like this many times, but the bogus vote kickers themselves toss fits about it so the conversation rarely goes anywhere

The originally purpose of the Vote-Kick system is to allow player agency within the dungeon finder, to serve as groups to chose on who they want within the group (Yes, the group, because the group has to agree to the kick).

The deserter buff added to being kicked was a result of people exploiting the queue system in order to get around the deserter buff, which is why it is also with the vote-kick.

The better option for vote-kick is to reduce the deserter from 30 minutes to 15 minutes for both being kicked and leaving the group, since dungeons doesn’t really take as long to do anyways.

Let’s stand united then :muscle: help the cause by giving visibility to this post.

I got a better idea. How about being limited, PER ACCOUNT, to three kicks per week. That way you would only use them when you need to and not abuse the system. You run out of kicks during the week, oh well, life moves on.

You people and your love of being kicked

Bonus GV loot if you ran your 8 and didn’t kick anyone all week.

I find this claim to be dubious, since the forums/reddit are going to be heavily influenced by selection bias in what gets reported.

But realistically, the better change is to just revert the deserter change from TWW pre-season 1.

So I just get a free extra vault for not interacting with LFD at all?

Because it’s not an account action, it’s the group deciding to not play with you.

Start it at 30, or remove the penalty for manually leaving groups. It should never be beneficial to get kicked.

I saw possibly the first vote kick I’ve observed since DF last week, and it was the tank being AFK for several consecutive minutes without saying a single word at the start of the dungeon. How people get them routinely I do not know.

It’s people not wanting to admit to others that they are the problem child.

I think you are looking at this problem the other way around, rather than saving the innocent you are just looking to punish the baddies, when in reality that’s not what this should be about.

I can give you a very close example, in fact I wrote this while I was kicked.

The reason was in one of the leveling dungeons I fell off a bridge and got devoured by some fishes, I asked the healer to mass ress me, he moved a bit closer and started casting.

I got kicked by the tank before the cast even finished, literally no chat logs and surprisingly one of the guys who voted yes was being carried by me (due to me being lvl 10ish) and we queued together for a few dungeons before this happened.

This gonna be good.

Just don’t do queued content, it’s a waste of time anyway lol.

Problem solved.

There are no innocent or bad parties here. What I am looking at is your suggestion which makes it beneficial to misbehave, when that is the exact reason that the deserter penalty needed to be added to vote kick. It was beneficial to get the group to kick you, so people would do that.

The level to which this didn’t happen is incredible. The game doesn’t show you who started it or who voted.

Okay then buy me a lvl 1-80 boost so I don’t have to spam dungeons for leveling.

And don’t tell me to do quests this isn’t vanilla.

Can just do quests.

And no, this isn’t vanilla but quests still exist.

It happened, and I confirmed the tank was the one who did it because I spoke with every single player in that dungeon after the votekick.

If this things didn’t happen you wouldn’t have posts complaining about it every single day.

Looking away and pretending this doesn’t exist is not gonna solve the problem, if you are lucky and this never happened to you, congrats, but for the rest of us it is a problem.
